Hi I am a new owner of Celica GTS. Tonight when I started the car on a slope I step on the throttle hard and release the clutch quite quickly ... then I smell some burn smoke ... is this normal or is there a little damage to the clutch ??
Thanx a lot.

Probably, we've had ours replaced because of this smell. It doesnt happen everytime we drive, but often on parking and moving on the slope. If its an egg smell, it probably either the Cat in the exhaust or the A/C.

So is that a big problem ? I am asking on fears that there's anything wrong with the clutch. I tested the clutch and it works
properly.

You probably just burned the clutch a little, no big thing but try not to make it a habit.

I have gotten this smell, also. I notice it, most often, when I have slipped the clutch a little bit - like when pulling into my garage from my sloped driveway. It's tight, so I just want to nudge it in. Once inside, I sometimes notice the smell.
I think its just normal for this clutch AND you should try to avoid it, as best you can. It can't be a good thing!:p
