All Right!!

To break the color thing we got going on, I have a friend of mine who just bought a brand-new Mustang GT Convertible... He wants to show up as well.

He likes the Celica a lot and wants to see what other mods are out there...

Oh yeah, his car is black! BIG difference from the carbon blue, doncha think?

I think we should schedule, or make a plan this time. Last time there was no plan so things were dull. This time we should make a plan for a place to eat, and make a plan for a drive. We definitely need a drive. Somewhere with nice roads (mountains), no too much traffic. What do you say? Suggestions? I'm going to try to find something, and we can all decide. If anyone know good places for drive, let us know.

Well, thats why I was trying to get an idea of how many people would be there... That would help me decide the amount of planning needed.

I wasn't planning on going as far as the parkway though...

I've never been to a local meet before though...car show is about all.

I also have never been to a local meet or anything, but blue ridge parkway is pretty far from raleigh, although I'd be willing to go if there were a demand.

As far as Raleigh/Cary is concerned all I can think of right now would be maybe a round of mini-golf and/or laser tag at adventure landing and maybe lunch/dinner (depending on time of day). I'm just getting this from what others do at their meets. There really isn't that much to do in Raleigh/Cary are there any hurricane's or panther games going on that day, that would also be an idea. I don't know, just kind of throwing stuff out there, what do you guys think? Any other ideas?

EDIT: Scratch the hurricanes/panthers idea..they both play on sunday<IMG SRC="http://www.newcelica.org/ubb/smilies/cwm10.gif" border=0> Maybe we can do something else, or someone else is playin....

I got an email from SuperCelica saying he lives near 77 but I think it would be quicker for you guys in SC to take I-20 east to I-95 north then from 95 take I-40 west into Raleigh. I think that would shave about an hour off your trip. I'll get exit numbers here in Raleigh a lil later. I can't remember them off the top of my head.

Well, how about this? If you liv 4-4.5 hours away, then how about we, the people from the Raleigh area, go a little further south to meet them somewhere. If anyone knows any places further south, kind of almost middle ground, we can try meeting there. As long as there is a plan and something to do.
Just a proposition.......Suggestions anyone?

JS7773
10-24-2001, 05:26 PM
Well, my parents live about half-way between Raleigh and Charlotte... a town called Carthage.

There are some CRAZY roads in that area as well that are quite fun to drive on.

It is farther south, but there isn't a whole lot to do other than drive... Nearest anything is in the town of Southern Pines/Pinehurst.

Speedy2kcelica, I live right off of Walnut street, at the Greenwood Acres; that's between Crossroads, and Cary Mall. I'll be at the meet so we'll talk then!
So how many people so far, and what's the plan for that day guys? If we don't plan right now, i don't think we'll be able to when we meet in the parking lot, because it'll be too late, and we won't have enough time to come up with something good. I'm saying that because if we don't make it worth it for the people who are coming from a few hours drive, then nobody will probably come the next meet.

Apparently there is a classic car show at the fairgrounds this Saturday. I've heard there is supposed to be 300+ cars there along with some newer cars (Vipers, NSX, etc)
I have also heard that there might be an admission charge...I'm going to try and find out more tomorrow.
