Ricer challenge.. need advice

this is one of my friends, or acquantances.... (screw spelling) i've followed his modding of his 2001 accord auto LX and know pretty much that he's just got ricer mods... like total ricer. He's got stickers, ultrawhites (they dont match) the windshild banner, basically stock. even has wheel covers.... its pretty horrible i know. So today he says how my celica is weak (auto Gt). even if he's half joking... he said he wanted to run.

just wondering if i really have a chance... LX has 150 hp but no VTEC..... he's considerably heavier than me... ya'll think i can handle it? i know my car isnt exactly a hardcore race car... but his is probably worse off.. any comments, flames welcomed...

First of all if its da 150hp version it does have vtec. It's a 2.3 vtec motor. Theres a non-vtec accord that has 135(i think) hp, unless its the older models-- i dont know what the older ones specs are. Well if your an auto gt and he's an auto accord... i honestly wouldn't know. You do have a MAJOR weight advantage, he has a torque and hp advantage but not much. I think you should win depending on how many mods he actually has. Just go 2 a stop light or somthing make sure you power brake and i think you should win. I've riden in a 2001 accord 4cyl and a 2000 auto gt and the accord feels faster, but that's just me. But to me on the book just looking at the numbers the celica should be faster. Wow what a race an auto gt and an auto accord, the fast and the furious he we come. hahaha just playin

O i read your post better, if he has no performance mods, you SHOULD be able to take him, should being the word, but both cars are 17 sec cars, just how deep in the 17s?? i dont know.

If it's stock you should be able to take him. Yeah, both are 17 cars. Hopefully you know your car well enough to put him in his place for all that talk. Let's see how much hp he gains with those stickers. ;)

whatcha talking about?! the stickers add the car 5000000 more horsepower.. u dont stand a chance!!! lol... but seriously though.. i think u got him though... just power brake for ur advantage but im sure u can take him!

seriously...he may get you off the line cuz of his "torque" advantage, and you may not have enough hp to reel him in before he calls it quits..

if you wanna have a better chance(and wanna be a little sneaky about it)...

before meeting up to race, adjust your tire pressures(lower front psi, up rear psi--hehe FWD's are funny), take out your spare tire, jack, reset your ecu--so comptuer relearns WOT cycles--runs richer, powerbrake the hell out of the car, and god speed..

just remember to do some weight reduction..

Let me guess... This guy with the LX has painted the inside trim (air vents, door handle wells, etc) with the ubiquetous shade of red or yellow, right? :)
