"custom" cell mount

so yeah I've been looking around for a kit for my cell phone to put it in my car, but I hate that most of them are very obtrusive and there isn't really any place on the interior where your could *cough*glue*cough*, ecspecially if you didn't want to mess up the dash. So I was at the Cingular store down here in SA and the guy fixing my phone shows me this phone cradle that is very versitle(basically anything you can plug into your phone unmounted can plug into this, or as little)

So I griped about there not really being a place to mount the cell and he took me over to a browser and to http://www.panavise.com and pointed me at this (http://www.panavise.com/nf/comm/indash/indashviewfinalimage.html?modelID=3198389412547526 ). So I had him order it and if anyone is interested I'll post some pics.. it seems simple enough to install (they even have fairly detailed instructions) .

Just thought i'd mention in case anyone was interested.

im sure it would be much easier to fabricate yourself. theres nothing to it at all... just a few bends and mount it on the screws for the head unit.

yeah its just a few bends etc.. but i think it goes for sub30$ so *shrug* i don't really feel like trying to figure out all the angles etc to make it fit like a company that does it all the time is able to :)

It should be coming in next week and i'll try and make sure I put it in asap (ohh and fyi ppl.. there is a tight little cell cradle for the Motorola V60t that fits on it)

I've had that mount in my car for just about one year now. Install is a snap and it looks good. You'll also need to get the actual cell phone holder. They sell the holders also.

Ha ha...Those are actually my ex girlfriend cds (old pic). the cdr is techno. I have to say I did didg the shaggy cd though.

That single din kit doesn't allow for any storage space......with the above kit, and using CD cases that are 1/2 the thickness of standard cases, I can fit 6 CD's in that little shelf area. With my MP3 player, that is well over 300+ songs!

it LOOKS cleaner......thats all...i agree the storage space is very convenient.....but i'm one of those junkies...i'd leave so much junk there...my cup holder is filled with trash right now.. =/

so I finally got it installed (and it mount itself looks identical to the one above, but my cell holder is actualy made specifically for the v60)

and when i was taking the pictures my camera stopped working *cry* dunno why either it just won't come on... i've tested stuph and its just dead :( what a waste of a sony dsc-p5 :(

anyways it was an easy install and looks clean so *shrug* i'll try and get some pics but can't promise anything now.
