RUN don't walk away from Maaco...I made the mistake of having them repair my previous car. Biggest mistake I've ever made with the car.

Bargain places that offer a cheap deal often use them to lure in people only to give ****ty quality.
Best thing to do is ask around to find out if someone's had their car worked on and on the road for at least 6-12 months. That way you can tell if the paint goes bad or somethin'.

I don't know about you guys...
But any place that has Pete Rose as the spokeperson I wouldn't take my car. It would be like taking your kid to Michael Jackson's daycare center or something... I would stay away...
just my $.02

My past experience with um didn't go good either. The s**theads didn't even mask the car properly when painting it. Ended up leaving little specs of clear coat on my windows. If the paint job is important to you then take it to a place that will treat your car as good as you would. If not, uh oh maaco.

So chain places like 1day paint and body are not good huh?
See, There are lots of shops but they are small shops. How can you tell if they used a good quality paint? especially if you don't know anyone who have gotten their car painted?
what r some great shops in southern california?
Maaco: You get what you pay for, sometimes not even that.
I attempted to go there & walked out 10 min later and will NEVER go back. that 199$ they advertise on TV...that's for paint. They charge about 100$ per panel to be stripped & that doesnt' include labor. My quote ended up being about 1200$ for not even the best quality paint / coats whatever.
DO NOT GO TO MAACO FOR A PAINT JOB.
