okay...i seriously know something is wrong with my tranny. i sometimes grind when i shift 1-2 above 6k and this is with the clutch fully engaged. if it doesnt grind...you can feel it that its not shifting smoothly.

now heres my situation....i took it to the dealership i bought it from to get it checked. so i left it there and was told i will get a phone call when its ready. so i get the phone call...and this is what the convo was.

service guy...hey theres nothing wrong with your tranny. our service tech drove it around and it was okay.

me...okay well i know for a fact if you go above 6k you'll know what im talking about. did your tech go above 6k like i noted on the service sheet??

service guy...well you know your not suppose to go that high when you drive your car. your "torquing out" when you shift that high. (wtf is torquing out??)

me...excuse me? are you telling me im not suppose to go above 6k when the redline is at 8k? are you telling me that toyota made this affordable sports car for me not to take it above 6k on occasions?? so your telling me your department couldnt apprehand the problem i noted on the service sheet??

service guy...**silence for a couple of seconds** well youll have to have to drive the car with our technician in the car.

me...what?? i have to go back there for me to drive my car above 6k and so your service tech knows what im talking about?? dont you think that's a total waste of my time n yours if you just take MY CAR and take it above 6k to shift from 1-2?

service guy...well when are you going to pick up your car? i said im going there right now

got there n got this excuse..well all of our service people are busy and cant attend to your problem at the moment. i was PISSED!!! f'n crap...so i told him give me my car cuzz right now i seriously think you need to get your manager here. lucky me...no f'n manager...****. so now i have to bring my car back when theres a manager to baby sit n show them....loook loook..do you understand what i put on your service sheet?? CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPP!! oh n get this...they put on my reciept. recommends customer not to shift above 6k...OMFG!! im soo mad ..sorry guys i just had to vent!!!i wanted to break some skulls...OMG

Sounds like the service rep drives a seeedan, or a peecup. and shouldn't handle anything with more than two moving parts.

I been hearin a lot about tranny and syncro problems with the Celica lately.
Mine's been smooth so far but now fingers crossed.
The dealership where I bought mine thinks I musta died after the sale. I'm afraid that if something does happen with mine, that I will get a similar reaction.
I suppose that if there was documentation of signifigant re-occurance, that Toyota would have to recognize a service liability.
Maybe there needs to be some national recognition that the syncros burn out to quick, or somethin.

Cooler than me....I can usually do with a rep who cannot find a problem, but if any rep that came back with terms or explanations that are clearly ignorant of their own product, I get all torqed out!
I think they would have to find a manager or call one at home.

When I mis-shifted and got my car back VVTL-I wasn't working... I told them and a the tech said to NEVER take my car up to 6k. Um, paid $3000 for this "feature"... you can damn well bet Im gonna use it...!

There are no "recalls" on the syncrho's , You simply have to find a dealer that is intelligent enough to replace them
