Have most of you tightened your throttle cable?

And for those who tightened it, did u loosen it up to stock?
The shifting is jerky people think u can't shift.

No, when tightening the cable you have to take care that you are not moving the throttle linkage off idle. :)

I adjusted mine, and no there was no difference in the RPM when parked (or in neutral). If you see a difference than you adjusted it wrong.

The cable attaches to a small cam at the throttle body. The cam should be fully seated against the stop when the throttle is not depressed.

If you are accurate in your statement that "sometimes" the idle is high then it should have nothing to do with the throttle cable adjustment. Since it is obviously a mechanical adjustment if you had it too tight then the idle speed would be high all the time.

When I set mine I first had the car at operating temperature, noted the idle RPM, adjusted the cable, rechecked to ensure the RPM had not changed, shut the hood.

there was a guy who tightened it too much and got 3K rpms at neutral when warmed up

LOL
