It was back in November in Cary in front of Crossroads Theatre, we had about 10 celicas show up. But yeah I'm down for a meet, we just need to figure out a date and place.

I live near Charlotte (30-45 mins away), have never been to a meet like this, and would love to go to one, but with the new baby etc. I'll never be able to unless it is in the Charlotte area. Let's do this! BTW: Y'all wouldn't kick me out just cause I have no mods currently right? :-)

I live about a mile away from UNCC. I think they had a meet at Concord Mills a while back (which is real close for me :biggrin: ). I wonder if that worked out good?

Up until last April when we bought our house in Gastonia my wife and I lived in your general area...an apartment complex near where Harris Blvd meets Sharon Amity. My parents live real close to you in a place called Thornberry Apts. A few times when I've gone to visit them I've seen a silver celica on N. Tryon street...I think that might be you...you may have seen me too, I also have a silver one. Anyways, I hope we do get to have a meet.

I've definitely seen other silver celi's in that area. I usually eyeball em, but hardly ever see anyone looking back. Do you have any appearance mods that I could identify you with? I've only seen two modded celi's around here: Celicaheart and some red one that just had a kit put on (wasn't painted yet when I saw it). Everyone else is stock.

Totally stock right now due to money and the fact that I am totally clueless when it comes to installing stuff on my car (I've never worked on one before). I wanna learn instead of just taking it to a shop, but cant find anyone near here that knows what they're doing and is willing to help/teach me when I do get some cash to buy stuff...I'd even be willing to, say, feed that person or something (hint, hint) LOL

I can go ahead an go to the Charlotte meet if I can follow someone from Raleigh and back to Raleigh afterwards, I'm terrible with following directions. So far it seems as if we may have a nice meet coming together and there are still some people from the last meet who still have yet to see this thread.

We should set up a date and a schedule of things to do and actually do the things this time. Last time we had a schedule to do some go-karting but only two people did it.

Yeah, I think it's starting to look like we could have a really good turn out. Has anyone ever organized one of these things before? If so, maybe now is the time to step up and set a time, place and list of activities. Should we start a new thread that says something like "Charlotte Meet," cause I don't know if everyone is looking at this thread. Just some thoughts I had.

It doesn't look like anyone wants to take charge of this so I think me and Nightchild are going to attempt to workout the details. Hopefully we'll get a date, place, and list of activities by tonight sometime.

Everyone:
N8 and I have been talking and we feel a good date for the meet would be Saturday February 9th in the early afternoon, say around 1:00 - 1:30. This would give folks time to wash their cars, do any other things they might want to do to them that morning, and drive up (or down, as the case might be) . If the 9th is, for some reason, a problem for some of you we discussed having the following Saturday (the 16th) as a possible backup. Please post whether the 9th of Feb. will work for you, or if the 16th is better. We will keep you all updated on plans for activities etc. - what we have so far is the basics - meet up, go to lunch together (please see N8's post and vote in the poll re: where you'd like to eat.) time for checking out each other's rides and talking/getting to know folks, and some cruising time down some relatively big/open stretch of road. We're trying to come up with maybe one or two more things - any ideas and/or suggestions are welcome. If everyone from NC.org, and the folks not on these boards that have talked to us/posted comes we're looking at 23 cars (16 of them 6th gen celicas, 2 older celicas, and 5 "others").

We're pretty positive that's the best place to meet. It may or may not be at the restaurant we decide on depending on the size of the parking lot. But we'll definitely be very close by. Glad to hear you can come. Bring as many people as you want.

I talked to a guy today at Muffler Works (when I was picking my car up after they put my Kazuma exaust on!) who had a white celica with nice rims and intake. He said he would think about comming to the meet. So he might or might not come. I never cought his name, but I told him about the site but not sure if he ever made it here. There's some 'maybes' so I don't have an exact number. I think so far it's around 15-20. I'm going to try and bring some friends. Even though they don't have celicas they are still into modding and would appreciate our cars and bring along some variety.
