are the compressors only necessary to take out the stock springs?
Would I need to rent a compressor to take out my teins and install it on someone elses car?

that is not the right one. thats the coilover compressor. u need the shock compressor cause the springs in the celica is inside the shock assembly. it is two seperate components rather than one to compress both sides of the spring.

compressing just one side is ok, i did it fine... u need it mainly to remove stock springs, the aftermarket ones are short enough to not need compressing...

i have a question. i know you dont need a spring compressor to put in the aftermarket springs. but what about removing them later if i have to replace my shocks. do i need a spring compressor again?

I believe the top one would work if he had two of them. But the bottom ones look better :) Just bought some myself from the flea market for 11$ that way I am not at the mercy of autozone anymore

Safety note: never stand in line of the spring while it is compressed! They can kill ya if the compressor slips.
