Anyone know where I can find a shop that carries both? Tirerack has the Kosei wheels (15x7 K1 racing) and Discount tire direct has the tires (205/50/15 Azenis) but I can't get both from either. It's frustrating...I know EXACTLY what I want, and I haven't been able to find it in one place.

If I can't find anything, I'll have to buy them separate, than find a shop to mount and balance them for me.. What a pain in the BUTT!! On that note, anywhere in Monterey, CA??

Isn't there a discount tire store anywhere nearby? They can order the tires and mount them for free. I just picked up a set of Kumho Victorracers they ordered for me for the same price as TR.

Ah... obviously you haven't been to Monterey, Pitcrew.

It's really bad here. The CLOSEST I've found to a performance shop is the local Stereo Shop who say they also install parts. Hmmmm.....

Moot point, anyway. I bought the tires and wheels locally and got them mounted at a tire shop. (they didn't carry Kosei OR Falken, BTW)

Really nice traction, though! I really like them.

Sounds like a good choice. Do you race or autox? I'm considering the Koseis with 225/45/15 Kuhmo V700s. Think that will be too much tire?

Every chance I get. The Azenis are my autox tires for this year. First time I've actually had a second set to use for the racing. The Kumhos on my stock wheels are getting a bit ratty.

I certainly wouldn't choose the Azenis as my daily tires. The tread pattern is just not enough. I haven't tried it, but I think they would be absolutely rotten in the wet.

Just remember if you are running stock AX class, the wheel size must match stock: 15x6.5" for the GT (and the 15" GTS I believe)

Well, I'm not stock, nowhere near stock, won't be ever again most likely.

I run STS. Any tire width up to 225mm, I think. I wanted to try STR, but the SCCA did me the great service of discontinuing the class. The Azenis feel almost the same as the Kumhos I borrowed last year though :)

As far as you go, erok, I've seen guys running both 205s and 225s on 15" rims. The extra footprint from the 225s may not make up for the slight gear mulitiplication of the 205s. I don't know. The 205s I borrowed gripped really well, though.

Actually, the restriction in STS is on the rim, not the tire. The max width on the rim is 7.5".

When you say "the Azenis feel almost the same as the Kuhmos I borrowed last year..." are you talking about the Kuhmo 712's or Victoracers or V700's?

The older race tire. I think that was the Victoracer? Not the 712. Those are my daily drivers.

Actually in STS it is a tire and rim restriction. No wider than a 225 series tire and no wider than a 7.5 inch rim.

Dammit, I need to go memorize the STS section again! ;)
