GT-S Stock Exhaust

what's up everyone....

I been considering to buy the TRD exhaust for quite some time now....but I've also given some thought to just buying an HKS type muffler and have a reputable muffler shop install one in for me. But anyways....the stock muffler on the GT-S has two parts to it as I've noticed. You got the muffler which I think mounts on perpendicularly from the length of the car. Then there's this smaller looking muffler that protrudes out from the car. Is this a resonator? What the heck is this little thing for anyway? The GT celicas don't have 'em.

I wasn't on the Toyota exhaust development team, but my guess would be that it's just another resonator to reduce sound. The GT-S is hella loud so they probably added an additional resonator after the muffler to reduce dB
