One of my friends said he saw a regular 04 Impreza on the road already, so the STI shouldn't be far behind.

my older bro put a deposit for one last year at Irvine Subaru and after getting his current impreza serviced recently, they assured him that he would get his STi on the second month of release. he was about 120 on that waiting list.

Word on the street. STi will be priced around $30k. Competing direclty to the EVO8. That should drive the EVO8 price down.

MSRP $32,000.00, not $30K
The drivetrain is more involved, as well as 30 more hp than the Evo. I have ridden in the new Evo8 also.
The STI will be available in May. I don't know what day and don't care.
I have ridden in the only US spec driving on US soil, 2 mths ago. Search the autox forum.

I read from various boards that the STi will be priced at $30k. Well nobody really knows until Subaru offically announce the price.
BTW, when you drove the USDM STi did the 6-speed feel notchy or is it like the celica? How far from the floor till the clutch engages? Also comparing the EVO8 with the STi did the 30hp and 6-speed really made a big difference, or you think its gonna be another one of those drivers race (celica RS-X).

IMO - STi and all subarus are ugly as hell, especially the baja... what was subaru thinking. the impreza is a great performing car, but it looks like butthole and I'd rather get a 350z or BMW than an impreza
