My engine coolant is running low. I remember someone saying on the boards that you could use water? Also what brands or types do you guys recommend? Thanks in advance!

Dasani, Aquafina, and tap work well. ;) Honestly, I topped mine with water yesterday.

you should just go to the toyota dealer and pick up some coolant, its not that expensive. and then use the coolant with water (50/50 split)

Haha, I prefer Dasani myself...it has a nice flavor and my car agrees ;)

Stick to the real stuff. Using water can and will rust your radiator eventually, along with the thermostat, and water pump. Just spend the 5-10 dollars the sh!t costs.

toyota uses regular coolant, gmc use special coolent that is red. What toyota does is that they add a die in the coolent reservor to make it look red.

look inside and see what color is ur coolant right now

then go to store and buy exact same color coolant and mix it with tap water 50-50 and u should be good to go

i heard about long-life coolants, that supposevely last for 100K, but i never tried them myself...

i am sticking to blue color coolant to match my silver/blue color schema:D

Yo TRD StreetRacing, let me guess you went to Westbury Toyota, they love ripping people off. I got a gallon for like 12 or 13 dollars from my dealer.

I go to neil toyota in lynbrook, they aint the best at pricing parts but compared to other long island dealers there prices are decent. Plus they renovated westbury toyota, it looks pretty nice, and they have really overpriced trd parts, ex. TRD Exhaust $650 w/o tax.
