Anyone have the OBX 1 lb bottle fire extinguisher? I'm trying to find a decent company to order from...any suggestions? I found one place that'll ship it for $45.

If you race, they like you to have a good high quality one.

I feel bad for the passenger in that car if they get into an accident. They'll split their wig on that thing.

Yeah I've heard stories about people getting into accidents and the bottle rupturing inside the cab doing some serious damage to the occupants. Most likely it would take the passengers head off.

The only APC's I saw were 2 pounders...I don't want that big of bottle infront of the passenger. The OBX ones are 1 lb and a bit slimmer design.

My question is how would a little puny thing like that put out an engine fire? I had a small fire in my kitchen once, way smaller than any engine fire would be and it took a lot of the fire extinguisher foam to put it out, luckily it was one of the big ones that you see in buildings everywhere.

were you spraying at the flames or the base of the fire? that could contribute to the reason it took the whole extinguisher...

Yeah, you'd have to watch cracking the engine block too. You don't want to put something so cold onto something so hot. :nono:

damn i was thinking about getting one of these, but no way in hell would I mount it in clear view like on the passenger side pillar. that is just retarded.

i wish i had one about 5 months ago in november. it was thanksgiving night and me and my brother were leaving my grandma's house and right when i backed out of the driveway all this thick white smoke started pouring out from my center console. turns out it was a wire that i had cut the day before and forgot about. so it was still a live-wire but it wasnt connected to anything. needless to say the fire didnt do too much damage.
