Post All Your Painted Headlight Pics!!

Okay, so I am planning to paint the inside portion of my headlights soon, but I'm not sure what color I want to go with. Probably either metalic black (on the underside, like BlueBombers) or silver (on the top, to match the car, possibly silver Vinyl) or maybe Carbon Fiber look vinyl. (I thought about doing them in that color changeing paint, but that would probably look nasty)

To be honest, if the paint u use doesn't match the car paint, then it looks like $hit. If you are goin to do it S|Lv3rBu||et then please get paint that will match the car. Having black headlights will look outta place on ur car.

Thats pretty interesting sagaboy77, what is that? The Testors Transparent red? Doesnt match the car exactly but it does look pretty neat. Keep em comin guys......

Yeah, I am leaning a bit more towards the silver vinyl, cause that will match the stock paint almost perfectly, and its removable!!!

Yup, I've decided that I'm going to do mine in silver. Just not sure if I want to go silver vinyl or silver paint. Anyone know what kind of paint Nate22 used, and how well it matches the stock celi silver?

Not sure how well it matches up with the stock silver, though.

When you spray them, make sure you put on around 3-4 light coats first, then you can put on normal to heavy coats to finish the job. The paint may tend to become uneven until it sticks to the plastic, so the more you put on at one time, the better chance this has to occur.

This is especially important if you're gonna paint the underside. The first few coats are the only ones that are visible in the end, and if they're messed up, there's nothing you can do to remove it (paint removers smear the plastic beyond repair). Coats that are too heavy will leave runs and swirls in the metallic color.

Okay, thanks for all the info guys.... looks like silver on silver it is.... and I just might have to do the angel eyes while I'm at it. :)
