Question abut Racing Hart GT5's

I'm ready to buy rims and have decided on the Racing Hart GT5's in gunmetal. Wheelmax.com has a sweet deal on them now.

I know very little about tires/rims so here's what I need to know:

Should I get a bolt pattern of 5x100 or 5x114.3?

Also, the tire packages come in (225/40/18), (235/40/18), and (245/40/18). What is the most durable tire as far as protecting the rim from damage if I was to hit a pot hole or something? Also, what is the best handling tire? Can someone please give me the pro's and con's on the tires?

you'll be fine with 225/40/18
I doubt 235/245 40 would fit... it wouldn't look right anyway

definately go with 40 series tires for extra protection
