:D Hey fellow gearheads. Since the Celi motor was co-developed by Yamaha, and since many of us are random gearheads, I thought I would share this new news: on 1/16/02 YAMAHA introduced, on-line, the RX-1. This is a snowmachine. YAMAHA has shaken up the big 3 North American manufacturers with this sled. Up until now a "four stroke" motor has been considered slow, expensive and heavy compared to the prevelant 2-stroke snowmobile motors, some of which equal the Celi in HP (Thundercat, for ex.). HERE IS WHAT YAMAHA HAS DONE: they put the R-1 bike motor in a sled. Then they added dbl wishbones. This is the most serious snowmobile ever. It will have "between 155 and 170 horsepower" according to a dealer (R-1 has 151) and only weighs about 550 lbs. Can U say a buck-20 on ice? I know this is a Celi site........ but 'ya gotta love this! If nothing else, just check out the styling. Go to www.yamaha-motor.com click on the sled then click on "ultimate performance". Again, this was just released to the public on Wednesday. Hey... if 'ya see the site, whattaya think?
