Since we finally got some good weather here in NY, I decided to do some spring cleaning on my Celica and one of the things I did was replace the cabin filter.

For those who don`t already know, the Celica comes with a cabin filter holder ( behind the glove box) but no filter is installed.
You can get one from Toyota for about $45.
Or do what most do, make your own from a a furnace filter. Just cut a Square to fit the holder and you have a filter for about $2 as you get a few from the furnace filter.

Anyway, I had the filter in since last July and you wouldn`t believe the crap it filtered that would have otherwise gotten into my interior. In addition to dust and othe fine particles, it trapped a large collection of other types of larger junk. It definately kept my interior cleaner!
Installing a filter is well worth the small effort. :)

One of the easiest and necessary "mods" (especially people with allergies) you can do and it cost about $3 for the filter (which can be used at least 4 times and about 5-15 minutes of your own time.

I remember when "cabin air filter, butterfly valve removed" were standard "mods" in people's sigs.

Interesting, I never knew there was a place to install a cabin filter and that you can buy one from Toyota. I knew there was DIY cabin filter, but I always thought of it as was one of those ghetto as projects. Dam, and I own this car for 2 1/2+ years...
