I need some help. I contacted a shop called majestic turbo in waco, texas (there the ones that did the twin charged v6 mr2 in, I believe the feb. Issue of turbo mag). Well I asked them if they could make a reilable, boostable, cost efficient turbo system for the gts that could yield somewhere between 280-300 at the wheel. A man named kevin told me that, yes they can infact make the custom turbo and point in the way of a custom manifold. I am suppose to call back with any questions or concerns. So, please let me know what type of questions I should ask...what componets should it all include... You know, all the things you guys would want to know. Thanks

If you seriously want a turbo kit for your GTS, just get the XS engineering kit. There is no point in trying to souce a custom kit when XS has done all the hard work already.

Yes I know about XS but imo the more turbos out for the gts the better. Everyones jumpin on the xs bandwagon right now. I prefer to atleast explore all avenues I can first...then make a choice. So could you help me out? Someone?

XS is the only one that has a turbo I can trust... maybe the EIP if I am in NY.... But XS is the way to go because they not only make a turbo they also put a PowerFC in there for you. $6000 installed is a great price.

I have to agree with Mike, you can't beat the price of the XS kit for what you get. As of now no one has a kit out for the car except XS, EIP is a :nono: and they are in Maryland. Turbo Performance is the biggest POS on the market so they are:thumbdown I just gave you all the options that are on the market as of now. Your last option is a custom set-up like Mike's and myself and you will spend in XS of $10K to get it done right. The option seems clear to me what you should do!

Jay,
Was wondering what the scoop was with EIP? I haven't really heard anything about them, either positive or negative.

Why is 6000 such a good price all the sudden? I remember when everyone said that was 2 much?

Where I have my work done they have had 3 eip projects in to have their motors and eng. mgmt. systems totaly rebuilt. All of them were VW projects and that's supposed to be their forte.

Because XS finally released all the parts thats included. Before people thought its just a basic kit. Now we know there is alot more than basic kit. Just think of it this way... PowerFC is $1,000 and then you add tunning to get a fuel map is another $500+ then you add install $500+ Right here it is over $2,000~$2,500 then the rest of the money for the rest of the parts... Thats $3500~$4000. $3500 is what tubo kits averages.
Bottom line you are getting quality parts, well tested kit for what others spent on lower quality kits.

Well that makes a lot more sense. Don't get me wrong xs is somethin I am considering, I just want to see if I can do better. Majestic turbo is well known for there turbos and low prices. I just wanna tell em what I want and get a rough estimate.... But no one will help me out. I just need to know what to ask for.

Here's what XS's turbo system includes. This'll give you a idea of what to ask Majestic for:

IHI VF23 Ball Bearing turbocharger
XS Front Mount Skyline GT-R intercooler core
Tubular exhaust manifold with High-temp ceramic coating
Apexi Power FC ECU
Walbro Fuel Pump, forced induction 255liter/hr
Denso 525 CC Injectors
Apexi Twin chamber BOV
K/N Filter
Titanium Color Turbo & Intercooler Piping
Earl's turbocharger plumbing
All silicone hoses, transistions, and couplings

These are all high-quality components. If Majestic can include components of equal or better quality in a custom turbo system for you (while including tuning and installation) for significantly under $6,000, that would be an excellent deal. Good luck with your project, man. Keep us all updated.

If you go custom make sure u have smart guys doin the job for ya...i mean Engineers..not ur average mechanic...someone with an Engineering degree. Im not saying its not possible...just talk to people who have the knowledge and experience.

There are very good technicians at majestic turbo. I have been getting to different stories from two different guys there so i am not sure the deal yet. I wouldnt just let some gear head or shade tree machanic work on my car. I am going to UTI for my master/master degree in automotive/truck/diesel/industrial/international, so i know better then to just let any old "mechanic" do this.
