I received this email this morning and I'm just sharing it with all the boards I'm a member of. It's pretty interesting.

Who Contributed????

I thought I would pass this along. It is interesting when you think of
what
we mean to the world and what we get in return. CNN Headline News did a
short news listing regarding Ford and GM`s contributions to the relief
and
recovery efforts in New York and Washington. The findings are as
follows.....

1. Ford- $1 million to American Red Cross matching employee
contributions of
the same number plus 10 Excursions to NY Fire Dept. The company also
offered
ER response team services and office space to displaced government
employees.

2. GM- $1 million to American Red Cross matching employee contributions
of
the same number and a fleet of vans, SUV`s, and trucks.

3. Daimler Chrysler- $10 million to support of the children and victims
of
the Sept. 11 attack.

4. Harley Davidson motorcycles- $1 million and 30 new motorcycles to the
New
York Police Dept.

5. Volkswagen- Employees and management created a Sept. 11 Foundation,
funded initial with $2 million, for the assistance of the children and
victims of the WTC.

6. Hyundai- $300,000 to the American Red Cross.

7. Audi- Nothing.

8. BMW- Nothing.

9. Daewoo- Nothing.

10. Fiat- Nothing.

11. Honda- Nothing despite boasting of second best sales month ever in
August 2001

12. Isuzu- Nothing.

13. Mitsubishi- Nothing.

14. Nissan- Nothing.

15. Porsche- Nothing. Press release with condolences via the Porsche
website.

16. Subaru- Nothing.

17. Suzuki- Nothing.

18. Toyota- Nothing despite claims of high sales in July and August
2001.
Condolences posted on the website.

The biggest donation was by a German company. Daimler Chrysler.
Nissan also donated they matched the amount that their employees donated.
Porsche, Audi, VW = same thing.
Subaru of America donated.
Subaru of Japan did not.

its not reputable.

yes the other companies immediately donated, but Toyota of america and honda also donated a lot, but it was done under the subsidiaries and parts manufacturers that they own.

i have seen this post many times...its actually not true.

plus, the red cross just used a lot of the donation money to higher their salaries and expand their organization...i think thats kinda wrong of them.

i know my schools efforts ended up at about 20 thousand dollars. not bad for a school of 800 people.
we had a hot chicks bikini carwash. we made mad cash.

EVERYONE has pitched in in some way, small or large.

i think this post is just an effort to flame that was started by a lot of domestic car boards.

yes both honda and toyota did contribute, but its hard to accurately judge considering it was from several smaller organizations and parts of the company.

i dont know exactly how to word it...ive been feeling kidna sick...so
just try and get the gist of what i am saying.
im gonna go take some benadryll now.
