Do you guys let friends drive your car...cos I don't know whether I should let them,,,

it depends. I have a few select friends that i will let drive it. I do have one friend though that i am going to teach how to drive stick on it...someting i NEVER thought i would do. And it also depends on what kind of a drive you are talking about. If they want to drive it around the parking lot thats cool, a VERY select few (2) that have much nicer cars than i do are allowed to drive it out and about with me in it, but not on a regular basis.

only time you should ever let anyone drive your car:

1. you are pissed drunk and your friend is sober
2. you are having a severe medical problem

Other than that...I would never ever ever let anyone drive my car...whats the point really? I am pretty sure you love your car as much as the rest of us...now I am assuming your friends dont love it as much as you do...and wont treat it as nicely as you do.

Not to mention nothing worse than having a friend crash your car because he/she felt they could "show off" for a bit....

Thats why if they ask to drive it, i make it VERY CLEAR that if they scratch, "show off", crash, "breath on it wrong"...i will kill them. and i also make it clear to them that i have lots of property behind my house that i could bury a dead body in and no one would ever find them.

haha well yeah i agree withyou ppls, just that my friends drive auto and they drive ****ty cars so I don't think I will let them drive...save for the one who lets me drive his skyline :)

yeah i let my friends drive it if i know they drive really well.. only like 3 of my guy friends fit that category..

oh and if they have a better car (i.e. my friend w/ an s2k or nsx..), cuz if they crash.. they better gimme their car.. or at least i know they can afford to pay for it to get fixed.

Ya, I just never let anyone drive my car. I mean....I don't have a celica yet but I went to the Toyota dealership today to start working on getting one and when the guy wanted to take my keys from me to "bring it to the other lot" so he could get an estimate on what the trade in value would be I told him no....I'll drive heh. Just not my thing, there's no real reason for anyone to drive my car unless like you all said, your hurt / drunk or of course unless your gonna get "something in return" heh. Just my 2c

I only let someone else drive my car once, and I was intoxicated with attraction (cute girls who don't take no for an answer tend to take driver seat).

I let one of my friends "test drive" my Si once and he ended up showing it off and taking it home about an hour later! Man, was i pissed!!! After that, i never let anybody drive my car.... except maybe for my g/f. The cool thing is, people don't ask anymore, so it's all good!
