OK SO I FINALLY GO AND TRADE MY CAR IN AND GET THE 6-SPEED, AND I MUST SAY ITS REALLY NICE BUT IM HAVING ONE HELL OF A HARD TIME WITH FIRST GEAR, THE CAR HAS TURNED OFF ON ME ABOUT 20 TIMES IN THE PAST DAY ALONE, ANY TIPS ON STARTING IN FIRST??

take it easy on it just let the clutch out slowly till it starts to go you dont even need to give it any gas

press on the gas and release the clucth slowly.. don't panic when you feel the car shakes.. keep on releasing the clutch slowly

randomx, dont feel too bad i was in ur position last week. i just my gt last monday and it is my first car and first time driving a stick. if u ask anyone they will tell u its all about balance u ease off the clutch as much as u push the acclerator. starting was a bi*ch for me, just ease of the cluth and then push in the gas if u do it correctly ull start to roll. it took my like 3 days to fully understand waht to do and then another 4 or 5 to practice it until i could take it on the road.

i remember when i got my celica, first time ever driving a stick...lets say that was a long ride home

Seriously, learn to drive stick in a beater car. The Celica is too sensitive IMO. And please don't use caps it's like you're shouting.

Also, Make sure you're not starting in third instead of first. I've had my GTS for a couple of days and am just now finding first every time. The gates are much closer together than on any 5 speed I've ever driven. Before, I would accidentally put it in third and stall out in the middle of an intersection. Just a humble suggestion.
