The past few times I have filled up the Celica the fuel guage in the car reads that it's down a few notches. I'll drive for a while and it'll go up a notch or 2. Then usually after I stop driving for a while, and then start out again it reads full. I've never in my 3 years of owning the car seen this issue. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I thinking it's the fuel level sensor in the tank, but I'm not about to take the car in to be looked at since my warranty is no more.

That happens to my car sometimes too, when i first start the car in the morning it might go down one or up one, maybe the sensor is just readjusting. But for me it never goes up or down more than one, if its more than that you might have a problem.

I had this same problem. Check out thread http://www.newcelica.org/forums/showthread.php?threadid=70730

After I changed the battery that was going out it never did it again. I have no explanation as to why replacing the battery fixed the issue but it seems to have.

Are there anything in the TBS that say there is a prob w/ either the toyota battery or led display?

No, I haven't seen any TSB's on this. I doubt there is a problem with either of the two. My battery was just about dead from running it down by leaving the hatch back area light on accidently.

I really didn't put 2 and 2 together until I replaced the battery and haven't had a problem with the gauge since.
