there are 4 bulbs in the headlight assemby. projector, the DRL/high beam, the parking light, and the turn sig. my question is... i dont ever recalling the parking light being on. what does it do? im going to do a headlight makeover with ultrawhites (optiblue, PIAA, etc). i need to know what the parking light bulb does. if it stays on in regular driving, im going to have to include it in the makeover. if its usually not on, then i can save like 10 dollars..... no flames... i searched but could not find. thanks

The parking light comes on with your low beam - so any time you have them on, it is on as well. Additionally, if you turn the light switch one time instaed of 2, it will turn on your parking lights, sidemarkers, and i think part of the rear lights. This, i think, acts mainly to allow other drivers to see your car well at night when you are in it parked.

To be exact, the parking lights come on when you turn the light switch to the middle or on.. uhm.

1st= off
2nd= break light @ low voltage, bumper light, parking light turn on
3rd= fogs & low beams turn on

Only placed I have used the parking lights are at a little Christmas light thing they have by my house. You drive through a regularly closed road that goes through a park thats all decked out in lights. They have you turn your headlights off and leave your parking lights on so that others can see you but your headlights don't ruin the lightshow. This is the only time I have used the parking lights exclusively. If I am stopped on the side of the road at night I usually turn my hazards on, blinking brings more attention then a steady light.

And what happens if you have no choice because your lights come on automaticly and you never see or can chose your park lights?

i have piaa parking light bulbs and not the regular or high beam bulbs yet. i'm tellling you its the parking light bulb that lights up most of the headlight assembly, and thats what will make your lights look cool when people see your car. its worth the money big time.
