This guy joined the mr2 forum about a month ago!!! He lives in london i believe... or some place in Europe! It's a 91 MR2 Turbo...

Notice that he painted the T-Tops to match the body!!! I didn't even know that was possible.
i think when i have some extra cash, i wanna buy another mr2 make it run 12's and make it look like this!!!

why would you want to immitate a ferrari?
i mean it looks nice.. but i'd rather have the MR2 body style to go with the MR2

Celicalicious, believe me... that's exactly what i was thinking when i got my mr2 a few months ago!!! The thing is, my dream car is a ferrari f355 and making an MR2 to look like it is probably the closest i'll ever get to owning one! Besides, it's a lot better than a fixed up fiero... I guess the imitation ferrari would be the car i'd take to formal events w/my girlfriend... i dunno... I know where you're coming from though...

If you're going to spend that kind of money, make your own statement with a car instead of an immitation. That car is the ultimate expression of a Type R badge on a Civic DX.

I like the MR2 but the rear is just stupid. :thumbdown

if i were to have a mr2, i would get a flare kit and have the ferrai conversion on the back onli. im not diggin the front.

Yes, super rice there...imitation might be the ultimate form of flattery, but ****..come on now...debadge it. Almost as bad as a guy up here rollin around in an MR2, with a HONDA emblem on the back!! Yes I'm serious

The kit looks nice, but the Ferrari badges are enough rice to feed a 3rd world country. That's like if I stuck VTEC stickers and Type-R badges on my Celica and got an NSX-looking body kit!

its an replica kit... of course it has badges... comparing it with type r sticker on dx it pretty dumb thing to do

Oh God no. That is just so wrong in so many ways.

Dumb?
Yo hoss, spending all that money to have a fake Ferrari instead of spending it on an MR2 that is truly unique is what's dumb.
In the end, it's not real and having the prancing horse on the back is the worst. Plus, that must have cost a ton to complete. So, it IS just like a Type R sticker on a DX, only the price is way out of wack.
Defending that car is pointless.

Its a replica kit. If your in to that kind of moding for a car than it looks pretty good. Its alot better than the replica Corvette ZR1 kits I seen or the some of the shelbys..... Some are going to feel your going to far with badges but thats what actually completes the kit. It's would be rice if he went around saying he had a Ferrari and not a mr-2 with a replica Ferrari F355 kit on it.

i like it.
I like it in the mindset that it's a REPLICA kit. Very nice.
If you boost it well and beef up the suspension, you will pretty much have the performance to match the looks. Too bad you wouldn't have the Ferrari sound tho. :/
For comparison, I think it's a good copy.

wow.. i must say.. that is a very clean conversion. and looks good. but i dont like it because its decieving.. if i get a car.. im gonna be proud to show it off for what it is.. just mo..

Yepz..it's a clean conversion....but it's just a replica..which means it ain't worth squat to anyone...just the owner.
I dunno...I mean...I understand WHY you would want to do it, because you can't afford the REAL car...but of course..there's a lotta social crap you'll have to deal with along with it. People callin' you a poser, etc...
In the end...it's just an MR2.

JUST an MR2?
I like it (in the replica sense) but I also think that the MR2 has enough personality and pedigree to warrant more dignified treatment.

I want to get MR-2 and do the same thing but...uh
Do you think the guy with the kit car(knock off) is as confident as the guy with the real Lamborghini or Ferrari?
It look like ferrari but dose it perform like ferrari?
What if some guy who has geo metro, turned his car into Celica and you saw him driving down on the street...What are you gonna do? Lyao? juz mah 2 cent
Anyways, he did really nice job and I wonder where he got that kits from...

Yes... with not a lot of cash, it will outperform it easily! As far as the "social crap" that archangelx mentioned... I really wouldn't care. If i'm happy, why would it even matter... unless you're so preoccupied with what others think, then there shouldn't be a problem. Anyway... s'all good. I'd prolly still do it. That's why people make kit cars... from 427 cobras, to lambos... for the poor folk like me. :)
Do you think Poon will know the difference? Not if the interior is done too. And even if it isn't, if she's looking at the interior, the car has done it's job and now it's up to you to work your playorific skills.
And then again, what if he's not single? Well, then there's the social profile, right? It's a kit car. If you let people know, hey this is a kit car and don't front, you will most likely get love. Because you aren't lying, and you aren't ricing the car. You are making a legitimate kit car. They are everywhere, so why bag on this one. Honestly, look at these Cobra kit cars... I would take one on a Mustang Chassis just as fast as I would take an original. Because they both look georgous and they are both fast as hell.
I would love to have the kit car as it is just that, a kit.

nicely said GTSnut! :) But yea, isn't that the point of a kit... So poor people like me can have the car of their dreams without having to spend a fortune? To each his own i guess...

Here is a link of a replica Lambo.

No way on God's green earth that I would pay even a fraction of his price. But it would be nice to customize A car like that. I think it would be sweet as heII.

I like the Kit, would never do it myself because i'm sure I could find alot of other mods i'd rather have on my car before I did something like that. The funny thing is gonna be when he races someone and gets smoked, then he's really gonna feel like a jack-ass, atleast I would ^^

An MR2 is pretty much JUST an MR2 when it's sitting next to a Ferrari. :p

The MR already is RWD and doesn't weigh a whole hell of a lot. With that said, if you get smoked by a Civic, the civic can smoke a Ferrari, so who cares what he tells his friends at that point?

I'll admit that it's a pretty good kit. However, there is no way that someone would mistake that for a real 355 unless they had never seen a real one before. You couldn't fool a blind man with that car if he'd heard a real Ferrari before.

"wtf, that ferrari is shrinking" or "wtf, I'm getting bigger"

dunno... it's a nice kit i guess... but in my opinion... the best looking kits don't mock another car like that, but accent the car's natural lines...
If i had a MR2... i'd go TRD Widebody... same for a Supra... can't beat them...
