the other motorcycle show (this weekend)

alright, found out some more about the next one we're going to. it lasts friday-sunday, is $9, and is at the cobb galleria center. (i was thinking it was right near the one we went to today but i was wrong). the directions from their site say:

If traveling Eastbound or Northbound on I-285, take exit 13 (Dobbins Air Force Base and Cobb Parkway or US Highway 41 exit). Turn right at the traffic light at the end of the exit ramp, heading South on Cobb Parkway. At the next immediate traffic light turn left onto Galleria Drive; the first entrance on the right is Cobb Galleria Centre's main (rotunda) entrance and drop-off area. Additional parking may be found at the second and third rights and in the 100 Builing parking deck.

not sure where we could meet up that would be near that place, so if anyone has any ideas let me know. this one seems like it might be a little bigger, with big areas set up from all the major manufacturers and lots of smaller ones from other retailers. there's also a section for "team extreme" which i guess is another stunt group. seems like it should be fun though.
oh yea, how was the video you bought duncan? i was browsing around and saw socalriders.com has their own now and from the preview it looks pretty good. i also found a 99 R6 for $5100 that seems real nice, but i'm still a few thousand dollars short.

Cool. That sounds like it should be a really good show. The only place I can think of to meet would be the Varsity that we met at before. There are probably better places a little closer though. I'm not real familiar with that area. That sounds like a good price for an R6. I can't remember if that was the year before it changed or it may be the first year that it changed. Still a nice bike though. I love the way those LED tail lights look. When you are ready to get one you should pick up a motorcycle trader magazine and look at some prices. It isn't hard at all to find 600s a few years old for 4 or 5 thousand bucks.

yea, the varsity might work again, it's right on the way for me. the 99 r6's do have the new body style(there's a pic of this one at http://adcache.cycletrader.com/5/2/7/1754727.htm), and this one actually even has the 2001 plastics on it (i think there are a few small differences in those years). and yea, i've been buying quite a few cycle traders over the last 6 months or so and looking through them, but i think it will still be a while before i get up enough $ to actually get one.

Yeah, that must have been the first year of that bodystyle. They are nice! They put similar tail lights on the R1 this year too. I'm fine with meeting at the Varsity if that works for you and Barry and whoever else wants to go.

haha...a bikini contest would be nice but i don't think they're having one. i don't remember there being anything about special events either day but i'll check the site again later and make sure.

Thats right down the road from me, so I might swing by depending on what day I go up to Athens this weekend. Not to huge into motorcycles but should be fun anyway.

Saturday at one works for me. I'll try not to be late this time. At least I know for sure I won't be riding my bike. It may be raining plus there is way too much trafic around there. We still meeting at the Varsity?

yea, too bad you missed out mark, we had lots of fun. the bike show was really good, i'll post some of the funny pics we got there later on (such as me on a harley and barry in the sidecar..haha). we also had some fun afterwards and went back to barrett pkwy and spent most of the evening relocating to avoid the cops but finally stayed away from them for a while. we met up with a bunch of guys that kinda had a sleeper club with a beat up old prelude with a t3/t4 that said he ran 11's, a few talons with some kind of turbos, and the best, an old dodge colt that was really fast. no one would tell us how much power they had, but this thing raced a camaro SS and killed it. it was pretty funny seeing all the ricers talking to them and some almost raced for like $100 but nobody ever did. but now we're all depressed cuz we were about the only cars their without a supercharger or a turbo. so i guess i'll keep saving my money for now in hopes that the biltz one will be here soon.

I was almost killed on the way home. Some cop came flying by at around 130mph and I was doing 80. He swerved between me and another car. He came inches away from hitting me.

Yeah, it was a fun day! I can't wait to go up to Barret Parkway when it is warmer like Barry said. We need to try to run into those chicks again in the silver GT. The ones in the blue celi were hot too. Maybe I can take the CBR up there and race all those turbo and supercharged cars. By the way Cody and Barry did you see that accident when we left Barret? It looked really bad. All I saw was a bunch of car parts all over the place a mangled neon sitting next to the road.

man, thats pretty scary barry. glad nothing too bad happened. on a good note, i saw a brand new white action package GTS (still had dealer tags on it) with indiglos, and we both gave each other a thumbs up. he kinda rode beside me for a while but i finally had to go by this slow car in front of me and went speeding on off. and yea, i saw that wreck, that looked pretty bad. and we should go find those girls again too...

It pisses me off when cops do stupid stuff like that! One night I was sitting at a four way intersection in the left turn lane. Just as the arrow turned green and I started to turn a cop that had been sitting on the other side of the intersection with his lights off flashed his lights and drove right in front of me. If I hadn't slammed on the brakes he would have hit me. To make it even better as soon as he got across the intersection he turned his lights back off. There must have been a sale at Dunkin Doughnuts! jk
