I'm a noob at this audio stuff, my 1st audio system...
My friend helped my install my wiring to my Kicker Amp.
Thanks to GT00 :) I installed an inline converter to my stock stereo and ran the RCAs to my amp to the inline convertor. Now on the Monster RCA cable there is a remote wire, where the amp also has one too. So what do I buy to install this remote? What is it good for? Do i need it? If so is there a cool way to install it so I could adjust the amp.

Thanks!
Any input would be appreciated
Slick

i would say your a noob! the remote refers to the wire that turns on the amp. LOL LOL! When your radio turns on the amp will too. Some people put a switchinline on the remote so they can cut it quickly if they need to.

Its just a on/off switch.

:chuckles: Yeah, I guess you are a n00b. As hollywood said, it's a signal wire that turns your amps on and off. Your amps alsways have power from those larger wires you and GT00 installed. The remote, usually a blue wire, is the switch to turn your amp on. When your radio turns on with the power button, there is a wire which gives off a signal. When the radio goes off, this wire also looses it's power. That's the wire you want to run back to the amp.

1st of all, GT00 didn't help me install the stereo, he was the one that suggested that I use a inline convertor so I want to thank him for that. As for the remote, thank you for telling me. But where should i connect that remote wire to if I have the stock HU.

Thanks

Same question, apparently no none can answer this... I guess there is no 12v power behind the stock deck other than the blue/yellow constant which is not a good idea to have your amp on all the time. I posted this ? last week and got no real answer so I will guess that everyone has replaced their HU...

connect it to your clock power, or the cig lighter, anything that will turn on when the car is turned on, or you can connect the remote to constant power and put an inline switch like hollywood said: it's just an on/off switch.

Yeah, from what I've also read, the stock radio doesn't really have a remote wire on it. You will just have to connect your remote to the ignition wire of the car. But in doing that, your amps will be on when ever the key is on, not the radio.
