Okay, I currently have Michelin Pilot Sports 205/50 R16 on the stock GTS Wheels. It's now time to buy new tires after 20,000 wonderful miles of sticky goodness, and some frightning winter driving. My brother in law's over in Iraq and I'm boycotting French products - so no more Michelin tires for me.

I have narrowed my search down to either the Bridgestone Potenza S-03's $260 Retail - $135 Tirerack (that place rocks!)
AA A 220 7.2" tread width

Or

Bridgeston RE 970 which I saw that the celebrity racing celicas were using $200 Retail - $105 Tirerack.
AA A 340 6.6" tread width

I drive like a jerk so having grip and wonderful cornering is important. Both tires are rated AA for traction and the RE 970's will last longer but I'm wondering if I will be disapointed by the narrower tread width. Will I notice a differance in grip and handling between the two tires?

Any input would be great

Oh, Let me know what your experience has been with the Yokohama AVS ES100

I was going to get these on my new rims (that are now in the mail), but they were out of stock for a loooong time, so I went with Dunlop FM901. The reviews I've read are really good and they are about $120
