Hottest Celica Color

I'm going to get a Celica and the following are my top three choices as far as colors go.
1) Absolutely Red
2) Liquid Silver Metallic
3) Super White

I was wondering though what are your favorite colors?

The toyota red paint is already for years known for the fast fading in the sun. That will happen within a few years.........so...... my vote is for spec blue

I can't believe so many people picked the blue's. Those are the least two eye-catching colors in my opinion, well the spectra blue is kinda nice. The carbon blue sucks

Where'd you hear about this? Are you serious??? I might reconsider my colour if this is true... But you gotta remember, if you don't take care of your car, and you leave it out in the sun all day, of course the colour will fade...

Well, I have had two red toyota's ( one corolla and a celica ) and although I took good care of them the color faded quite fast. I also owned a red Toyota Corona Mark II and that car was just hell.

When I ordered my new celica I asked the dealer about the red color and he told me that there are still the same problems.

The red celica was most of the time in my garage, so very little in de direct sunlight.

It seems almost every single car I see around Toronto is Liquid Silver...Maybe colour choice has something to do with region?

i chose carbon blue over spec blue b/c your getting two colors (carbon blue during day/black during night). but it does get dirty easily. i guess i like darker colors cause they make the car look mean :mad:

I find Spectra Blue looks different in direct sunlight than it does in the shade. I think the average non-Celica owner looks at Carbon Blue as just plain black.

I'm not doggin CB Celica's. Sh*t, I almost bought one! (It was a dealer demo - didn't want to take my chances on it though)

I've always like white cars :biggrin: cause they tend to be cooler (temperature wise) and, well, I dunno, they seem to be pretty eye-catching IMO.

*I think red makes the Celica look cheap. Its not a good shade of red for the car.

Spectra Blue is my favorite, but I wish it was a brighter blue, like a Yamaha motorcycle blue. Silver looks really nice, but too common. White looks good, but not as exciting as spec blue or silver. Carbon blue may as well be black. Black hides the lines of the car too much and makes it look kind of boring. I never like factory reds. I think red cars are sweet but only when they are candy or pearl reds. I've seen some knockout red showcars. I also wouldn't generalize about Toyota red paint. Paint technology changes alot in 10 years, and while I've seen old red Toyotas and they look like crap, I highly doubt the dealer really knows about the new red cars. Most dealers are idiots.

Otherwise I would say Carbon Blue is the nicest colour (but it's not available here anymore...:( )

Silver...really brings out the lines. Hopefully when I get the 2nd Celica I can get Spectra Mica. I hardly see them and being unique is always best.

I'm debating about trading in my 2000 GT Liquid Silver for a GTS. This thread is helping me.. I know I do not want the Super White. I would want Black, but in Arizona, Black is the worst color to go with. I'm not out in the sun a lot but my girl already has Red (S.Menchavez) and if she trades hers in, she'd get black.. so.. ahh!! I'm not sure. I guess I'm down to Carbon Blue or Spectra Blue.

why is black the worse color to get?
it doesn't get as hot as my last car(which was red camaro).
because of the tint(helps a lot)
i can stand the heat with a black car.

I was 'this' close to ordering Absolute Red until I saw a picture of a Spectra Blue Mica somewhere on the internet.

I changed my mind that minute and decided to wait the 3 months to have one specially brought over from Japan.

I never expected SBM to be that popular. Before I bought my Celica I only ever saw ONE spectra blue. Everything else was Silver or Red. Could have bought a 2000 Red GT but instead I ordered a 2002 SB GT...with a 2 month wait! Worth it for sure.
