I did fairly well i believe. I ran a 5.0 stang, GTP, and a chevelle on my 3 runs... i coulda done more but i got my goal for the day on the third run. Here it is
Dial
R/T .975
60' 2.007
330 5.756
1/8 8.847
mph 79.89
1000 11.594
1/4 13.936
mph 96.82
see the funny thing is i bounced 4th gear off the gate and didnt get it in, so i think i coulda pulled another 1/10th outta there, but i didnt try.
My 60' was accomplished with a 4750rpm clutch slip with minimal wheelspin... i think next sunday i am taking off my turbo to get it upgraded to 50trim =P
I won all my races except the chevelle, who ran a 13.344... i think he was surprised my little 4 banger was keeping up with his 402 big block =)
My friends didn't do so well... though it was 2 of their first times to the track, so they didn't really expect to. And the left lane at KCIR sucks because my friend kept rolling on it and false starting.

Dude what happened to your RT? You got a late start? But nice times.. My 2 is still in the shop I want to run it at the track before the snow comes and kills my chance until spring. Im jealous. I want to drive my 2.

You must be running time onlys. Cutting a .6 RT in competition would get you beat like a red headed step child.:D

Damn, you hard asses! ;) .974 ain't that bad. Only .474 from perfect. Lower than .5 is a disqualify. I'm usually floating from .6-.75

actually I just noticed tht the top end on your car is not very good?
when billybrun ran his 14.15 his 1/8 time was 9.212
you got a 1/8 of 8.8 and a 13.9
interesting

Nice times. I love the 2nd gen MR2. My father had one about 7 years ago and I loved that car. Heck, I like it more than all of the corvettes and the Viper that he has now. I'm a sucker for a Toyota I guess.
? for you.. since we both ran the 1/4 at 97mph.. does that mean on a highway run we would be like right next to each other?? but if we started from a dead stop you'd beat me?

actually, the only reason i didnt trap around 100mph is because i lowered my rear tire pressure to about 23psi... and as you know it is harder to go faster with a deflated tire. I was having trouble with my first 2 launches getting a 2.2 and 2.3 but i was trapping almost 100 on both runs. I decided the launch was more important than my top end so i reduced tire pressure alot to get more traction off the launch for my 4750rpm slip. I think i can pull a 2.0 60' with 35psi in the tires, but i havnt tried yet. If i do that i can easily trap 98-100.
And larry, i dont know if you could do that now, i have about 210rwhp right now and these new mods should bump me up to about 235rwhp or so and put me down in mid 13's. Next time i hit the track i won't deflate my tires.

so what happens when you overinflate tires? you get more top-end? ;)
does this mean all the celicas who deflated their front tires to get better launches were hurting their trap speeds?

i dont know if you get better top end if you over inflate... =P i think having the optimum tire pressure is best for top end. And yes, the celica's that lowered their pressure probably did improve their launch while losing some trap speed.
well thatd explain why I was only trapping 97.. well part of the reason, since I ony had 15psi in my front tires..drag radials :)

yep, that would do it alright.

Slade, not quite sure I agree with your theory. My MPH was alway up when I had traction problems with the ET being down. Better traction improves ET while it will effect MPH but not from the tire pressure. You obviously lose tire speed and rpm with a good launch which effects the top end speed. At 90+ MPH the centrifugal force of the tire will increase the circumference to equal to or better than a normally inflated tire. While it is certainly affected by the sidewall stiffness and speed check out the tire dynamics of a top fuelie on the top end to illustrate the point. This is simply an opinion based on my personal experience.:)

*shrug* all i know is i pulled it off =) with a low mph and im sure the tire pressure had something to do with that. Next time i go i probably wont be running low pressure tho.

I'm sure the pressure does have an effect. It all depends on what your goal at the track is, mine was always ET, the MPH was a whatever. Good luck with your next runs. :)

I pulled off a 13.6 @ 96 mph. 1.67 60ft
get that 60ft down. the speed will drop {to a certain extent} and suddenly it feels lik you're going faster
