I'm thinking about replacing the stock speakers. I dont really know too much about speakers, but i want them to be louder than stock, be able to handle lower and higher notes, and for now just assume that $$ is not a factor.
BTW- i have a Clarion VRX925VD head unit.

As I usually say, Pioneer REV's are an awesome cheap set, and getting more expensive are JL XR's and MB Quart Q's and QSD's.

I would go with another Component Set, im planning on a getting Polk EX3560 Component Set, but there are others to choose from, listen to different types of speakers and choose the ones that YOU think sound the best

I was looking in the Crutchfield catalog and seems most pairs of speakers go for about $100,
oh, as long as there is thread here about speakers (not to hijack it or anything) but is there any depth the celica can't go beyond?

Get the infinity kappa 3 ways. 63.5i's. 6.5's all the way around. That is what I got and i too have the clarion vrx925vd. The cleanest sounding speakers one can get. Get them off the internet, much cheaper. They will be the best for your particiular setup becuase of the tv. they go perfect for movies. Prestine sound.

Be careful when ordering over the internet, you want to make sure the site you are dealing with is an "Authorized Dealer" If you purchase something from a site or even store that is NOT authorized there is NO warranty.
Be careful when ordering from Crutchfeild as well, their reputation is not the greatest, especially when concerning customer support..
Just looking out for all.....

Depth? Like mounting depth? I don't think there are any component speakers that are deep enough to become a problem. Once you get into subs with larger magnets and motors, then you get into depth issues.

crutchfield is great in my experiences but way overpriced. i like to buy their adpater kits and stuff. very hassle-free.
what's the dif with 2 ways and 3 ways. a lotta people told me you can hardly hear the difference. i havent been able to find a shop demo'ing 63.5i's. i got a/d/s/ components in the front (not installed yet tho). i was gonna throw some 62.5i's in the rear, but if it's worth the extra bucks to go three way i'll consider it.

3-ways in the doors is a total waste of space. If you look at J3adSeed's setup, that's why you would need 3-ways. A good 2-way setup in the doors will blow the 3-way in our doors away. Like in J3adSeed's setup, he used 3-ways with the mid-basses in the doors, and tweeters and mid-ranges in the kicks. For doors, stick with 2-ways.

Everything I have, except my HU (circuit city) and one amp, I purchased from crutchfield, yes kinda pricy, but the 30-day money back guarantee and authorized dealer status and shipping time are worth the extra $ for me, and their store is 2 hrs from me :D
