View Full Version : We drive $45,000 to $50,000 cars
One of the clients I audit is an auto insurance company. One of the things I had to do today was test premium calculations. So, there is this big book that has every car rated. It rates them on a double digit number with the number equating to a price range of the car. The higher the number, the higher the price range...the higher the price range, the higher the premium. So, just for sh!ts and giggles, I looked up the Celica. The GT-S was rated as a 23 which equates to a $45,000 to $50,000 car. Thus, one of the reasons our insurance rates are so high. :faint:

My insurance rates just went up for no reason when I got my renewal. I have no tickets or accidents. So when I called them to ask why the rates went up they told me that everyones rates went up. They told me it was because they lost a ton of money due to claims, most were false and they had to spend lots of money to ivestigate, and they upgraded the Celica to an intermediate level sports car. :wtf:

You think that's bad? When I transferred my insurance from my 2001 GT-S to my old assed 97' Prelude, my premium went up about $150 a year.

Telling them you have a GT when you really have a GT-S will backfire.
Either they wiill not do their jobs and when time comes to claim either deny you insurance or give you the payout for a GT.
Most probably they go by the VIN, so in fact they know you have a GT-S.
When I used to work at All-State Canada we had a man who had totalled his Camry, on our insurance ticket he claimed to have had a base model I4 to get lower rates, when in fact he had an XLE V6. Not only did we cancel his insurance (so now he cannto be insured by anyone for 6 years) but we also took him to civil court for damages, and then after that we file da crimminal complaint. The man now has a crimminal record for insurance fraud.
Harsh, yes, but I remember when I used to work there, if they are not careful they lose a ton of money, literally, a ton.

They could deny you coverage or even have you charged for ins. fraud. (worst case)
