Since I have the TRD body kit and all those things on the Celica, I definitely get more looks with it. And after driving the WRX all weekend, I think that a stock Celica feels a like better then a stock WRX in corners. But the WRX has a lot more power to play with, and the AWD is awesome, and nothing beats the sound of the BOV. =) But I still love my Celica, and deep down I think I actually like it better then the WRX over all. Oh did I mention the WRX's shifter sucks?

Umm... what B.O.V are you referring to. Wrx's don't have a blow off valve that you can hear.

Yeah you can, I took the silcencer(resinator box) off the same day I got it. I can hear it now, but it's not loud or anything. I'm gonna buy the HKS BOV as soon as that adaptor comes out this month. I'll be at the meet, just let me know when and where.

You should come to the msr meet. If you don't know about it, go to www.midsouthsr.org and go to to events forum.

Your celica feels better in the turns compared to the WRX? I don't think so.

I'm assuming you are treating your gas pedal like a princess in the WRX, you should be hugging those corners with AWD way tighter than a FWD celica...

I have a GTS and I've gotten to drive a WRX twice now and I feel that the Celica handles better but I think it's just cuz I am not really used to the WRX and kind of afraid pushing it as it's not even my car. I would think the WRX would be better but I don't know. The shifter in it is ass and I'm pretty sure I could take one on the highway, again that is probably due to my inexperience with keeping a turbo spooled up and such in the WRX.

The Celica does feel better in corners without the body roll, but the WRX can probably get out of the corner quicker.

He just said it felt better. He didn't say the celica was faster. At least that is what I understood he meant. I am sure there are a lot of cars that can take corners faster than a Celica but don't feel as good as a Celi does. And feel is an opinion thing anyway so how can you question him on his opinion?

4WD doesn't automatically make a car handle better, the Explorer has 4WD too.

There are far more factors affecting handling besides FWD, RWD , and 4WD.

i drive my boys REX all the time... i LOVE THE turbo boost... the cornering... it feels like a 4x4 at stock height compared to my celica... but that's just me... but i definately think things can help that in the scooby... sway bars and strut bars... remember... the chasis is carved from a ralley car... so it runs in the blood... wrx can be a corner demon if you want it to be...

mebbe it's the sweet little LSD that u got in ur Celi that makes it feel so good in the corners? most of us don't have one so we automatically assume that the WRX would handle better...

Everything I have ever read or heard about these 2 cars has said that the Celica is the better performer in the corners. That is why I bought my Celi. The WRX will kick the Celi's ass in the straights but the Celica really shines in the corners. Where I live there are very few roads the go in a straight line. It's all corners. :) I could give a rat's ass about my car's 1/4 miles times. If it is fun and nimble in the corners than I am happy. The Celica is VERY fun in the corners. I am sure the WRX could be tuned up to handle the corners like a demon but stock for stock the Celica is the better handling car.

AWD or not..guys...there's a helluva lotta difference between RALLYING(i.e. on dirt and grass) than RACING on pavement and deep corners.

The AWD will help alot out..but I've already done my test drive of the Scooby...and I HAMMERED the hell outta of it(I hope noone buys it, with what I did to it. :D ).

I've gotta say..after test driving it on the pavement..and on the dirt....It's got a great turning ratio..but there IS alotta difference between the two.

On the dirt..it's a bad ass with it's AWD...but I could definetly tell the difference between my Celica and on the WRX on the pavement.

Still...the sucka is badass regardless...heh.

Agree with most on the forum that must take other factors into consideration than just AWD. BUT if it helps any, I'm looking at the Suby brochure right now & it contains various articles from a bunch of magazines. FYI, Road&Track and Car&Driver pulled only .84g and .82g on the skidpad for the WRX. The Celica was about .86g or .87g tested by the same mags.
