I have a friend who has a '95 Eclipse turbo. He want's to do some upgrades. What is entailed in puting on a BOV on the stock turbo? he says the stock one recirculates the blown off air and it is starting to leak.
Where is a good place to find parts for him?
Also looking for an intake?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
THanks.

the stock one is good for like no more than 15 psi.. maybe even less. the first thing most 2g dsm owners upgrade is that stock pos plastic bov.. make sure to get one that can recirculate.. (hks ssqv, greddy type s, etc).. if he is going to do that.. might as well upgrade the upper ic pipes as well.. i think its pointless to get a flange to fit ont he stock ic pipes.. since they will most likely upgrade that when gettin fmic..
as for intake. get the k&n fpik.. the injen is koo.. but i personally would get the k&n fpik.. and get a dejon tool 3" hard intak/inlet pipe with adapter/coupler to fit on stock t25.. this is good so for future turbo upgrades.. ull have the perfect diameter in piping and not the smaller injen or stock..
as for parts..
http://www.dsmtuners.com (classified section)
http://www.dsmtrader.com (used/new parts from people all over)
http://www.dejontool.com (for ic pipes flanged specifically for a bov.. they also sell bovs)
http://www.roadraceengineering.com (nuff said)
there are more.. just go to dsmtuners for a link of all the vendors..

so is replacing the BOV easy? is it just a straight swap or would we have to change something with the ECU?
Are there any good Eclipse sites like this that i could talk to Eclipse people about this? Not that you guys aren't a HUGE help...you are...and i am sure some of you guys have worked on them before but i want to see if any of them have FS forums and links to some good prices.

yes its easy. its not a straight swap though. dependin on what bov u get. u need to have the flange for it for the uip.. please.. go here

Thanks a lot! You have been a huge help. I tried getting into the DSMtuners.com and i couldn't sign up cuz i have a free -mail provider. grr. But i will look again to see if i can find stuff. I think i may have found something of what i am looking for.
WIth the Greddy type S BOV, can you do a straight swap with the stock UIP? Or would we HAVE to redo it?
Thanks again, you have been a tremendous help.

yea.. ive been hearing of some registration problems on the 'tuners.. i dont know why.. i think they are restricting it ors omething..
but anyways.. again.. it depends on the flange.. i think there is a flange/adapter to fit on the stock 2g uip.. so i guess yes.. u would call it a straight swap.. ok i decided to be nice and find the link for just that.. here you go
http://dejontool.com/DSM-2g-IC-pipes.htm
scoll to the bottom where it says "BOV adapter for the stock Upper IC (plastic) Pipe" again i dont see why you would put it on the stock plastic uip.. u should try just purchasing a hard pipe flanged for ur specific bov.. but anyways.. that's ur solution for ur greddy type s on stock uip.. as a straight swap.. :)
