View Full Version : butt slow Bit CHAR-G!

Ok my CHAR-G has been draggin' ass lately, I guess because I got 'el cheapo and used some spare Sears batteries I had in the house. I guess I screwed up the little Ni-Cad battery in the car. NEVER USE CHEAP BATTERIES. I bought a 2.6 motor the other day and not a big improvement. The 3.0 that I just put in makes the car run just a bit faster than it ran stock!!!
I'm gonna have to go buy a new one and use this for target practice or something.

har har! I guess I just wasn't very smart with this one. I'll learn my lesson with the next one I buy! Hey Kev, remember I got that 2.6 for ya. Next time I see ya you can have it. I meant to try and drop it off yesterday but I was bombed tired and crashed early.

Hey Guys,
Sean told me Fast and Furious has a few 3.0 motors in stock. I picked up three yesterday and a set of tires. Check it out. FOr Bit Chrg G's they only have RX-7's in stock.

Did you know the motors only cost about three dollars in Japan? Jeanine just called me in Japan. The cars are only $15.00

duh :D
didnt you see the post i made when we first started talkin about these? i had a link to that website that listed all the parts and cars for cheap, but you would have to do the current conversion cuz it was yen. shipping woulda offset it tho, cuz UPS its like $20. you can opt for airmail or whatever but who knows how long it would take cuz of 9-11

engrish?? :)
Yeah Jay, I used the small gear. The big gear works for shyt. I just bought a new RX-7 today, but unfortunately I got the same one as Mark apparently at 45 MHz. Big difference... my car tips over with the medium tires. I also bought a set of tires, and the hard ones work great, no more flipping over, just drifting (tho a bit tricky, the car does spin outta control a lot). Oooo I like the label on the 3.0 motor - "Lucifer Rotor". Very kewl.
yeah Mark, the guy at FnF was pretty shocked so many ppl were coming in to get these things. Funny it was you, me, and Sean. :paranoid:
There's a big warning notice on my new CHAR-G's box tho. NOT FOR USE WITH ENERGIZER TITANIUM. USE ONLY SONY OR PANASONIC BATTERIES. that could explain why mine is so screwed now. Just thought I'd let ya guys know. I don't know what the battery type has to do with anything, but I'm sure there's a reason for the warning.
edit:
Ok I just spent my lunch hour playing with my new tires! The tire set is a definite must with the 3.0 -- the medium tires simply don't handle at all. I thought the hard tires were good, but the soft tires are the bomb on the linoleum (sp?) of my living room! I can set the car into a nice sweeping drift now just by tapping the stick left or right and straightening out towards the end in the direction I'm going... super kewl. Not the tiny little drifts... the nice big swoopers with the rear tires spinning!! Definitely try the soft tires. The hard tires work better at my office because the ground is dirty I guess, and the tires are grooved. The soft tires are treaded. :)

So that's what you do on your lunch break? Hmmm.... Nah j/k. So Clint where do u work? I wish I could drive my RX-7 around on my lunch break. Wait did I even eat lunch today? I don't think so. Oh well.

heh, well anyways! Jay, does yours still flip over in the turns? Or was it just doing that because Sean's driveway is uneven? I'm not sure if it's just in my mind, but I hope mine is getting slower again. I tested all my motors, and the 3.0 is still the fastest, so I know it's not something with the motor itself. Just wondering if like anything else, you get used to it after awhile. It is pretty hard to controll tho.

yeah it depends on the floor. i have laquered hard wood floors here at home and the tires grip good enuff that it wont flip. but i havent really been able to tell the diff between the tires. right now i get the hard speedy tires on.

Clint dont throw it away just yet. I was getting pissed at my bit charger too cuz it kept going right. I took the whole front assembly off and took the tires off too and cleaned the posts and made them clear of debri and now they spin freely. Car goes hundred times faster and handling is super sharp. bring it by and i can service it for you. Not too sure if you can butt dyno it after though...

Damn Sean, you work on real and toy cars. What can't you do? lol.
by the way, you'd better wear gloves when you service his bit char-g, he might have tried the butt dyno already. I don't know if you want to touch something that touched his butt with your bare hands. lol.

When I was in high school all the farmer guys thought I was gay because I didn't take woodshop, auto, ag. So for the three years I was in high school I was called gay even had f a g etched on my car! lol It's ok, now I make movies and they now shovel cow crap on some farm. Poetic isn't it? So my point is I didn't like it so the dislike bleeds over when I hear someone else do it continuously.

hehe well, I'm always one with a good sense of humor, so I can take a good joke. I'm more than apt to handle being the "butt" of jokes too haha, but it does get old after awhile. Not that I find it offensive, but I kinda ran outta comebacks so it's not as fun. Now I just shoot out a "Hey!!" here and there, hehe.

Hehe, yeah while you're at it, can you polish and wax mine up like you did yours? :)
I did take off the rear axle and cleaned off some lint that was wrapped around it. That alone made a difference... I dunno if my front suspension comes off like yours tho?

Anyone know how to fix the bit charg G, if it keeps going to the right. I just got one as a belated christmas gift and right when I assembled it from the box it steered to the right and doesn't even turn left at all. Anyone suggestions. It is a red RX-7 with 57Mhz. I got two now... Yipee...

i KNOW you know about the wheel alignment under the car so i would say try looking at how you mounted the tires. i found the tires actually flare out. so if jus one of the four is mounted the wrong way, it will swerve.

haha this is so funny! I can't believe you're servicing Bit CHAR-G's now Sean. Rofl. Mmm if it get's busy enough maybe you can even have drive thru service. :)
Yeah man, check the alignment switch. I still haven't gotten mine to go TOTALLY straight, but after fooling with the tires and the alignment, I got it running pretty good. I finally settled on using the soft treaded tire on the floors in my house. With these on the car really hangs the turns. I know it sounds cruel, but I kinda have fun chasing my cockatiel all over the house with it. He goes chasing after it once in awhile, but with the 3.0 motor it's just too damned fast for him, haha.
