Question about stock action package

I am just wondering if u buy a celica with an action package does the stock exuasht tip go far enough out to not burn your rear bumper. i mean if it was the original tip it could burn ur bodykit and wound't that be considered a lemon??? I am just curious

Lord Banshee, that is an excellent question. My gut feeling is that it would creat a problem becuase the "action package" is a body kit made by TRD, and TRD sells both, a standard length exhaust for the stock rear valance, and an extended exhaust to get clearance from an aftermarket rear valance like the one offered in the action package. It doesn't make sence to offer the extended length exhaust at all if it is completely unnessesary. :confused:

But I would still say that the rear valance would be OK with a stock exhaust. The reason I say that is the fact that it is offered that way by Toyota from the factory. Do you really think that Toyota would release the bodykit package with the standard exhuast if it would create a situation that would result in the repeated and costly replacement of the rear valance? Do you really think that TRD would miss out on the sales of thier extended length exhaust being factory equipment on every action package Celica sold if they had the leverage of the fact that it is a necessity with the rear valance? I don' think so.

well i was wondering i only seen one celica with bodykits (around here 90% of celica owners are women that have auto's lol ) and i thought it had an extended tip but wasn't sure. it was the trd exuasht either normal exuasht. hmm just a question

Yeah, if the car had a kit and you saw that the exhuast was a TRD, odds are the person got the available extended exhaust, so you are probably right.

But the people who order the action package for their Celica's from the factory get the same stock exhaust every one else gets, not a TRD.

whats the point on buying an extended exausht when the stock exhaust on an action packaged celica isn't extended and wont burn the bodykit? This makes no sense.

if u buy the exted exhaust full axle back, its really nice sounding. there's a group buy going on now, u can ask them why the heck they're buying there's. i would buy one, but i'm 17 and my parents won't let me soupe up my car THAT much. i hate asian parents :down:

If you are not into performance and you are worried about it, you can always get a muffler shop to extend the stock exhaust behind the tip for about $40.

i am all into performance, but i might not have enough money when i buy my car to get an aftermarket exsuaht so i was wondering if it will miss up my bodykit if i do not get the extention.

Hey Banshee,

Stock Exhaust on GTS Action Package has a Metal "Guard" around it to protect rear valance from heat of pipe. Mine did not burn, but looked crappy being hid under the rear valance by a couple inches. I brought it to my local muufler shop and the welde a couple inch extension to it to make it extend 1 inch beyond Valance.

Cost me $25, cheaper than a TRD

the answer is that when you buy an action package celi from the dealer, it has all other stock parts including exhaust. There is no problem w/ the stock exhaust on the TRD rea valence BUT in my opinion it looks kind of dumb. After you get the action package celi, you should lower it, get rims and throw on the extended TRD exhaust, then it will look sweet. The only thing i am missing is an aftermarket wing. I am waiting for molly designs to put theirs out.
