This is for all you non-believers out there..for anyone who said that it would never happen..all the people that doubted me or my goals...well kiss my ass!

I went to the track on Saturday with in my boy's ride (my registration is expired) for a Sport Compact Show...after seeing all the cars runs (and let me tell you, we got a lot of fast imports up here In Michigan..DAMN I was amazed with the turnout)

I was chatting with a few DSM guys (they were kicking ass in the competition BTW) and one of them overheard me talking about my ride..I told them it ran low 13's and they were like "a probe? yea right"

Well, they set me up with a race for Sunday (test and tune) against one of their DSM's

It was a 1993 Eclipse GSX, and it rran a 13.2 THAT night...(I saw with my own eyes)

SO of course, my cocky ass says...well my car runs low 13's so it should be close, but I would lose because Im FWD and I already pulled a 2.0 60' so my times wont get any better until I install my FMIC and run the boost at 9psi (instead of 6psi)

These guys thought I was just saying that because I was FULL of ****, and even offered (because they thought I was lying) to let me use a set of slicks off of his (another guys dsm) FWD laser and bet $100 that I would not even come within .5 seconds of his time! and that If I won he would let me come to his shop anytime I want to work on my car!
LOL!!

I got a bit nervous because the car I am supposed to run ran a 13.2 THAT NIGHT!

I said, "well if your serious then I will be here tomorrow" they started to snicker a little bit..... :gay: So I risked the ticket and drove up to the track yesterday for this exciting run.

Here is the result......

I was impressed to say the least! Slicks are the ****! I actually got some traction for once!

Launched at 5500rpm and dropped the hammer.

You guys just wait until I up the boost to 9psi....

Yo, you dont understand....I FINALLY finished my goal...I ws going to sell this car just a few days ago..but Im keeping this BEAST!

Im not even driving my car to work...the plates are EXPIRED, but I said fuggit..the offer was too good to refuse...now I have $100, a 12sec timeslip, and a shop to work on my car in on the weekends!

Them boys were like :AF: when I pulled back to the pit...I thought I ran the 13.2 at first!

Damn, slicks are the bomb..seriously...if you have mad tq like I do you NEED slicks to get the power down...no more spinning through first, second, and some of third.....

I had like 20 people walk up to my car and ask me what I had..I simply replied Intake, headers, exhaust, and 6psi!

Again they were like :AF: !!!

NON-INTERCOOLED LOL!!!!

wow, congrats bro. Probes are hot s-t and having one that runs the kind of times you show is great. I was looking at the sheet and saw your trap speed...i would expect more than 105 for a 12.9 but still great.

I was'nt saying that you guys doubted me, but my own cuz doubted me...he told me it would never happen! Damn Raul! Sup wit the 3sgte?

TriflownM5

The reason why my trap was so low for a 12.9 was because I was running slicks at like 12psi.and they were only 13"..

So int turn, they shortened my gear ratio, which sucks becasue I had to shift into 5th gear!

With some larger size slicks (a lil bigger than stock) I can avoid 5th gear and my trap speeds will go up around 3-4mph in the current state it is in now..with

. and I was still only boosting like 6psi.........l ran the car a few weeks ago in with the exact same setup and pulled a 13.4 with a 2.0 60' I was only boosting 1psi more this time (must have been a small leak, because all I did was tighten things up.)

Im sure with street tires I would be able to knock a 108+ trap speed, and with 9psi intercooled Trap speeds in the 112mph+ range dont seem far away at all.....im expecting mid 12's at 9psi

very nice...

One day ill get back to the track. I already pulled a 110 on a 13.5 run...

i bet she will put down way more than that now...

yea, my friend HAD a M5 (before he twisted it on the freeway) and we used to run all the time.

My car was in the same configuration as it is now and we used to have some beautiful runs together.

Man I so miss that car, he has a 911 Turbo now however.

not only that but the less your tires spin, the slower your velocity will be. so if you hook up sooner, your wheels spin less, and your top speed is lower, because you spent less time spinning

:werd: I went from 97-98 traps to 96-95 with the drag radials. Times definitely improved though.

Keep up the good work Mike.
