I posted up something about these Celica mini Bit CHAR-G R/C cars awhile ago, and I know a lot of ppl have ordered them. Just wondering what your experiences with them are? I just got my new 3.0 motor the other day, and picked up a 2.6 for good measure. The 3.0 "Lucifer Rotor" is hella faster than the 1.0 that the Celica comes with, and I'm having alot of fun with it. At first I was having problems turning the car without it rolling over from the speed, but I picked up a tire set and both the hard and soft tires do wonders. I can now set the car into sweeping controlled drifts with the right surface/tire setup. ;) The tires are a must!
One word of advice: be careful what batteries you use. I used some cheapo Sears batteries on my first Skyline and ruined the little Ni-Cad battery in the chassis. That car is butt-slow now. I picked up a new RX-7 chassis (with the 1.SLOW motor) and am having a blast again. The next one I picked up had a disclaimer on the box advising against the use of Energizer Titanium batteries and recommending ONLY Sony or Panasonic alkalines. I don't know how that works, but the difference is obvious.
I'm gonna set up a race track in my garage and have a go at it with some of my friends soon.

i got three so far. yellow s2000, silver celica, and a white skyline. These things are so cool. I cant wait until they bring out the EVO VII body.
I have the 1.0, 2.2, 2.6, and the 3.0 motor. And so far, my 2.2 motor is the fastest. Weird...

I have all the motors too, but my 3.0 is definitely fastest. The 2.6 and 3.0 come with two gear sets - don't use the white one because it doesn't work worth crap. Use the small black one every time you switch motors.
I think the best bet is to get the AE86 set. It comes with three different axle gear sets, a full tire set, two bodies, a set of cones, and three optional suspension setups! The Celica body can be swapped onto that, and you have the optional drift suspension and drift axle. :) The tiny wings come off too, but I haven't found another body that has a wing that fits to swap onto mine.

You can sand it down and paint it whatever color you want actually... like you would a regular R/C shell.

qwk, so did you guys order these in yen? is there a distributor in the states?
edit; see the links for purchase, so are these full function right and left turn and all?
also, what the hell is shipping going to be on these things? the cars are pretty cheap, but when they don;t post a shipping cost it makes me nervous...

I think most of us ordered from e-bay. I got mine locally - there's a lot of hobby stores around here that import JDM toys. Yep, these are full function, F/R/Left/Right directional.
I think the other guys got it for less than $40 shipped with upgraded engines.

locally I paid $45 for just the basic setup. The engines are about $13 here, and the tires $6. Ebay is much cheaper. :)

that link to the japan distributor of tomy http://www.hlj.com/cgi-local/manmenu2.cgi?manufacture=TOM said they could ship two cars at 22 bucks and change each, plus two hop up motors for 16 bucks shipping on the second best (7-10 day delivery time) shipping method, so with shipping that would be 30 bucks more or less for each car shipped, might have to hit it up.

Whoah those are really phat.... but have u guys seen the Kyosho Mini- Z racers. Not as small. But they are hella fun. But a lot more costly. About 100+ us buks. Seen em on ebay but not elsewhere yet. They have a lot of models but no Celica. They even have special productions like Castrol NSX , and Hakinens F-1 Race Car. They are realllly sweet and really fun. They come with a full sized remote control too.
Look for em :D

Kewl dude! The CF-look hood is a nice touch. The AE86 setup comes with gumetal rims, those would look nice with the Celica body. :)
