The grill that Kaminari sells for the kit is very nice looking, but expensive. You can go to mcmaster.com and look up perforated or expanded metal for other grill patterns.

Make your own. Go to Home De. and buy the grill its like 9 feet long and like 4 feet in width. The good part its only $3.00.
Good luck

I'd say nay on the Home Depot stuff, even the stuff I use (Hinged Gutter Guard, different than what swift7g suggested). If you've got a kit as nice as Kaminari, go for an equally good looking grill.

call up Kaminari.. they'll sell it to you. If you are slick and depending on who you talk to, they may even hook you up. I think it normally sells for 50 bucks from them.. but I may be wrong.

I called Kaminari to buy the honeycomb mesh from them. You need 3 sheets to fill all the openings in the Kam kit. Each sheet is $40 so for a total of $120 + shipping you can buy it through them. I used hexagonal hole perforated sheet metal made of aluminum from www.mcmaster.com and paid $35 + shipping for a 3' x 3' sheet which is more than enough and I have about half a sheet left over. If your interested go to the site and type in this catalog number (92725T42) in the find box to see what I used. Shipping is expensive though because of the size of the sheet.

Exactly what I got! The kaminari honeycomb mesh is the same hexagonal shape but I am not sure what diameter the holes are and how thick their mesh is. I will post pictures of my mesh installed for you to see in a few hours. I think it looks better than the popular diamond shaped mesh. Look for the pics in a bit.

looks good bro... however i would have done it so the hexagons are turned the other way with the flat sides to the left and right rather than the pointed sides to the left and right... if that makes any sense

Throttle, how strong is that material? I know I ordered some from mcmaster.com, and it was so thin, it was damaged in shipping. I would assume the Kaminari mesh would be much stronger.

Kam i dprobably much stronger but at three times the price. Maybe I wont even do metal mesh.

I have had the mesh installed in the kit now for almost a month and there is no oxidation or rust. I have washed the car several times since the install. Aluminum typically will not oxidize, but I have seen cheaper grades of aluminum turn white which is a sign of oxidation for aluminum.

The material is thin only .032 or 1/32nd of an inch thick. If I had to guess I would say that the Kaminari mesh may be more like .062 or 1/16 of an inch thick. Any material much thicker would not be plyable enough to form it inside the openings. Since the open area of the material is 79% it does not create much wind resistance and debris for the most part passes through the holes so the material is holding up nicely.

The body shop I use is very good and reasonably priced, but when it comes to small details like aligning the shapes of the mesh they can't comprehend. I tried explaining to them how to align the mesh and they said they understood but this is what I got. Overall I am fairly happy with their install.
