I plan on running for time only. STS would probably be the right group for me. :)

It's about 4 hours from Vegas. Funny, I just won a free entry to any Vegas autocross event. I gave it away because of the drive. Our road racing banquet have out several raffle prizes and several were vegas prepaid events.

If you're going to run in STS, you will have to put your interior back together. :)
Nothing like standing in the freezing cold rain for an hour huh? At least I did better than last time. People seemed to really slow down towards the end, I think it was because they were so cold and wet! What's with the open top convertibles and karts driving in the total downpour? That's hard core autox-ing!
Ray, if you read this, I really want in on Willow Springs next month. $35 to get soaked for an hour and drive for 2 minutes sux. Hopefully I won't have to work that day.

Driving in the rain is fun, I love it even on Hoosiers.
One of my best index finishes last year was an event were it rained all day. I ended up 4th on index 1st was S2000 (Saini) on full depth Kumhos, P2 & 3 an AWD Eclipse on Kumhos.
Autocross tip # 82 Buy a rain suit

Hehe.. I watch a couple of your runs and I'm quite impressed with your times! from what I recall you clocked in at 70sec just as fast as Vincent who was last years regoinal champ in ST and ran the track on saturdays practice run.
As for the Willow Trackday you can email chezterr@yahoo.com. security deposits is already pass due, but I told him you are a good friend of mine so just get in contact with chezter as asap.
I was even faster in the last run until my right foot got the better of me at the first slalom. The key is not to try to accelerate and turn at the same time... until I find that LSD!
If I had been more patient and let the car just roll around the turns I bet I would have cut 2-3 seconds on the last run. It's hard to be patient when you wait what seems like forever in line between runs (really like 15-20 minutes). I kept flooring the gas and spinning the tires. It's too irrisistable.
A really good driver who could avoid gassing it all the time in a GT-S should be at least as competative as the GTs are. Even with the rain there were some very fast drivers there. A woman in a stock Focus kept turning in low 60 sec times. Another driver in a 6th gen Celica running earlier in the day was turning in mid 50 second times before it started raining. I think she was running in a stock class too! That was really impressive because top times of the day were only low 50's! Next time, I'll try to concentrate on going faster instead of just having fun sliding around the cones. I realized Sunday the only reason to be there is to try and be competative.
