Okay i have done maybe about 4 installs in my lifetime. I've only installed amps in my friends car one in a maxima, one an accord, one in an acura cl and one in a benz. The thing was that they all had aftermarket head units. And the I think they are called RCA cables, all just plugged into the headunits.

So my question is how would u go about installing the RCA cables into our stock systems. I heard the gts premium system has like an external amp to it. but i don't think mine does since it is a gt. I've used that converter thing from radio shack on the acura cl, and just tapped into the rear speakers for the audio signal. Where would u tape into the wires? by the headunit or by the speakers ? I'm just trying to find out the easiest way to do this.

Oh where did you guys ground ur wires? like any specific place u guys did. if not i'll just try and use the seat belt buckle.

thanks for you help.

I would probably try to tap into the wires near the rear speakers. Although, getting the plastic pieces off so you can get access to the speaker may be a pain.

As for the ground, I grounded my amps to the bolt that holds one of those little tie down loops on the trunk floor. Just remember to file off the paint so you get a good connection.

I didn't install my amp myself but I wachted the guy do it he just put sometype of RCA conector on to the back of the head unit and taped the wires from the back of the headunit instead of even touching the speakers, And as for the ground they are both grounded to one of those little tie down loops on the trunk floor as well

there is a piece called a rca to line converter. you can by this about at any electronic store for about 20 bucks. the easiest spot to tap off in any other car would be to tap off the rear speakers. but a lot of us celica owners know about how difficult it is to remove the plastic to get to them. you can just buy a ream of speaker wire and lay some cable to the hu. be sure to check on the install section about what color wires are for what speaker. as far as the amp part. you said you installed a few and there is no difference except there is not remote wire from the factory hu. im pretty sure you can tap off the illumination wire or even the power wire/power antenna may also work. hope everything goes well.

what amp did you get. would like to see some pics after install.
