hey guys,
i'm in BIG dilemma here, and need your sincere thoughts and experiences...
i have kosei k1's(17') wrapped with 215/45-17 rubber and soon will get the full tokico suspension which will drop the car in the prementioned lowering standard.
i REALLY want the Veilside bodykit as it is undoubtedly the DADDY, but my worries are whether the car will scrap badly and i will have a nightmare driving it in anything else apart from a track...
Anybody, knows how bad it will be?

i have trd drop, 17 with 215/40/17 tires and i think i have 3.5 inches in the front under the veilside bumper. it scrapes on everything.

id say go veilside. trd is too common. just be like more careful when u hit steeps, driveways, or speedbumps. take em at an angle..

i have to think about this really carefully...
oONoGoAutoOo, i agree man that the mechanical is nice but unfirtunately so, wayyyy too common indeed...
maybe i need to go and try to give it a go with the veilside...don't know still confused as hell...
I happen to live in Greece, where the roads are like sh*t, and full of bumps and stuff.
I hate to think that i will demean myself with the mechanical, but in the end... given the circumstances and responses from you people, i seriously think of ditching the idea for Veil and go for the mechanical...
i'm one miserable tuner at the moment...

since the area is pretty bad where i live at, why not get a different kit besides TRD?? Kaminari is pretty nice also. :)
if not, go with a WW kit, those look really clean, and i dont think the front is that lower than stock. Better yet, a WW front, Kam sides, and either a kam rear, WW, TRD, or RMM rear valence would be a nice combo. well, good luck and let us know what u decide.

of course you will scrape once in a while but the look is well worth it. I've had mine for a few months and only scraped a couple of times. You will learn to drive right, trust me. It's really not as bad as they are saying.

just don't get the body kit yet.
drop your car.. then drive it around and get use to it first.
i scrap my stock bumper pretty bad the first few weeks and few month when i drop my car. my front bumper look like ****.. now.
planning to get a body kit now. since i am use to my car being low now.. ANd i am driving on 16 gts rims.
so you can pretty tell how low is my car to cause that.

you just have to adjust your driving style to your car.
i don't think the car is gonna sit any lower than if someone dropped the car 4" w/ the stock bumper.
gotta also remember that almost anything you do to your car there is gonna be some sort of compromise you'll have to make. (ie: springs will lower the car and increase handling ability but will generally give you a rougher ride)

well on second thought if the roads are THAT sh*tty, you may want to reconsider the veilside
sorry didn't notice you lived in greece

Well, this forum is a great place to share your problem and get responses! thanks for all the great and much appreciated info guys.
i will probably drive it around for around two weeks time to let the springs wound down and then see where i'm standing.
but, rest assured that the fight for the daddy veilside kit is not over yet... i will let you know guys what happens after all.
Later dudes...
P.S. VeilSideCeli, that is one wicked chariot, ultimate attitude and style, props man!

I have 18" rims with 225/40 tires, Tokico blue shocks, 1.5" drop and I have never scraped.

i honestly haven't scraped either that's why i said it's really just a matter of how you drive
but if the roads suck really bad it may make it harder to enjoy the car if you have to be overly cautious

Hey veilsideceli did you have the authenic veilside bodykit? and do you have any problems with the front bumper cracking if you kit is the fiberglass? and wouldnt the TRD spring be good enough to where u dont scratch?

i'm not sure how much ground clearance i have cuz my car is in the shop at the moment but when i get it back i will measure it
yeah i do have the authentic veilside kit, i haven't had any problems cracking so far i've only had it a few months
and as i stated earlier i don't scratch, i'm also extremely cautious when i think i might scratch so that helps
