Hey everybody. I own a 2000 Black Toyota Celica GT Automatic w/ Overdrive. I would post pics, but I can't right now. Well, hello NCORG. I just got my car used. It's an awesome car. So, before I post anything, how do I race with an automatic car? Anyways, I'll take a guess on how to race:

Turn Overdrive off, push on the brakes and tap the gas slightly. When I want to go for it, I let go of the brakes and floor it. I keep on going through all of the gears and then when I am close to ending the 3rd gear, i put the overdrive on and it will shift to 4th gear. Is this somewhat or near the right way? I haven't raced yet, but if i get into one, i wanna know what to do.

Also, I know I have an Automatic GT. But it IS capable of beating SOME things...so please dont post "To race with an auto celica, you dont race" or something like that. Thanks.

Well, you don't even have to turn OD off. The computer knows when you are flooring it and will adjust the shifting points accordingly.
Yep, racing an auto is basically what you just wrote. Foot on brake, foot on gas, let go of brake, floor the gas.

Welcome to the Forums, hope you enjoy your stay.

hi and welcome to the boards. i dont think an auto GT is meant for racing, but if u want to, check out the racing forums. or u can use the search function and search for launching an auto. theres lots of good info on it.
