Hey guys,

I was trying to master painting on my interior pieces, thinking that if I do bad and I don't like it, I can always bring it to a shop to repaint.

How do you think I did on this one? I'm deciding weather I should try to do my dash.. this one came out as smooth as the outside of the car, and as glossy, but I had some imperfections on it.

Here's the pics:

Would you guys recommend me doing the middle dash part? I think I'm up for it!

hehe...just take your time when you paint. Make sure you leave time in between for it to dry. Like after priming it, let it dry. After Painting it, let it dry. Then after Cleaer coating it, let it dry.

:) got it my mang?

Do you guys use a paintbrush to paint it? Did u sand it before you painted it...what's the steps....sand, primer, paint, and clear coat is that correct?

I believe he sprayed it. Paint brush will leave uneven marks.

looks good to me! I would say go for the center console to paint, it would look pretty nice. Just take your time on it and nothing will go wrong.

They have all the Mica Blue at Kragen, as well as the Carbon blue from Dupli-color. I bought the Mica, it looks exactly like the blue Celicas when it's in the light.

I primered, sanded, primered, fine sanded, spray 2-3 coats of color, fine sanded, re-spray one HEAVY coat to make it look shiny and without texture, then a HEAVY coat of clear coat. I'm gonna do the dash this weekend. We'll see what happens. I did the plastic thing aruodn the mirror adjusters too, and it looks great as well.

Thanks guys!

Looks great, can you take some pics of the process while you're doing the dash though, it'd make a great guide.

No problem. I'll make a guide to painting the dash this weekend.

Because to everyone else it seems stock, and it looks almost black.
