In my maxima forums it has been shown (by taking them apart) that the nissan OEM oil filter is better than the aftermarket ones.

Is the Toyota filter like this? If not, what filter brand is recommended?

Second, I cannot easily fit under vehicles to change oil. I have trouble sliding myself under the car far enough to work. At stock height, will ramps work? I know that on my max, stock height was fine but w/ H&R springs I scrape on the ramps- even w/o a lip or aftermarket bumper.

With the GT (no kit no TRD bumper or lip) am I likely to scrape?

Yo man, the TRD oil filter is good and better than stock, but way overpriced. Overall, it doesn't make that much of a difference.

The ramps will work. Just be careful.

Toyota (stock) filters are among the best in independant tests. :)

Thanks for the input, guys. OEM Toyota works for me, possibly the TRD, dependign on the price differential.

I believe that there's no need to spend the extra $$$ for the TRD filter...just an oil filter ya kno? I doubt its going to make that much of a difference driving.

There is currently a sale toyota has for all celica accessories at my dealership (Toyota of Hackensack, NJ). I'm not sure if all dealerships are doing it, but I think oil filters are like 3.50. Time to buy a case and stock up.
