I'll put money it's just an Si with the kit and such. I've been hanging out on ephatch and there are plenty of places that sell the JDM kit and rims and such.

its just the si body w/ the rsx-s motor (k20a2)... might be other things like suspension differences...

I saw it with my own eyes and it had the type r seats shift knob and carpets, the whole works...Believe me it was a type R.......the plates where from Alabama.........and stop ragging on my post.

I still plan on checking one out when they are announced. Hell I still might buy one. I'll wait and see.
Flame on, but I could see the CTR smoking a GT-S, roller-skate or not. :)

I know they're pretty fast, but I do not like the way they look at all. All you gotta do is buy 2 of em then get a can opener and cut the roof off and the Hulk will have his own set of roller skates.
Isn't the CTR a bit heavier than the Celica, and has like a 12 flywheel horsepower advantage. I say it'll be a drivers race vs a GT-S.
DGibb
06-01-2003, 01:17 PM
I could agree it would be a drivers race, all I said basically is it can beat a GT-S.
KrazY-2K
06-01-2003, 01:24 PM
Yeah, I'll admit they'd make pretty nice sleepers though. Just imagine being at WOT going like 90+ on a deserted freeway then some 10 year old riding around on skates just flies by you.

06-01-2003, 01:28 PM
I think the buddy club 2 bodykit on the new hatches makes them look alot better. Of course its still a roller skate.
Id buy a CTR if we could get them in damn coupe form. Whats up with that?
KrazY-2K
06-01-2003, 01:31 PM
Yeah, I like em a lot better in coupe form too. Then I'd consider one :)

Who cares if it's quick, it's freakin ugly. If you turbocharged a Honda Element (:puke:) it could beat a GT-S, but when it's all said and done...you're still U-G-L-Y.

Not everyone is about showboating.
I have a friend with a fully primered older Nissan 200sx. Not exactly good on the eyes, but his car would smoke the **** out of your car easily. (He just transplanted a 1998 turbo blacktop engine in it, 220hp if I recall).

It had to have been imported... it can't be a USDM model if it really was CTR.
Edit: It is ugly though.

Yes, it must be real because there aren't already tons of other Honda people who have redone their entire cars to look like Type R's.

Someone who has a JDM fetish bought an Si and modified it. Not uncommon in the Honduh world.

Let me introduce you to my friend. He had a civic hatch back, forgot which year. He made it in to an SiR with every part possible, you would have thought it was an SiR in the states but you would be wrong. Just because it has the whole works does notmean its real. Every ricer out there has a type r whether it be a type r celica or a type r buick lesabre....
but yeah I'd take the type r over the celica gt-s any day..... I have driven the last gen rhd type r and that thing was FUN, and it was FAST I loved it!

the CTR is not on sale yet in the US...
i can imagine it's a JDM fan who spend 2G's on a CTR lip soiler kit and 2G's on CTR wheels...
i thought the CTR headlights come smoked  not too up to date with honda stuff now a days

Not only is the CTR not for sale in the US, but it will not go on sale until at least 2005 if ever. It will not be a 2004 model. You would have heard something by now.
Honda is currently behaving much like Toyota. Completely conservative.

The Si that I drove was really nice. I liked the interior alot and how there was a cup holder near the left side of the steering wheel.

I dont think the guy driving this is to much into hooking up his car seeing as though he was in his thirties and the fact that the headlights arent smoked could just mean that it is probably a us model and dot doesnt permit it.

Plus just because a car is slated to come out at a certain time doesn't mean you cant get one without connections. I saw an RX-8 in Miami Beach months before it was supposed to come out. Money talks.

what side was the steering wheel on? and fyi I know plenty of 30 yr old with very hooked up cars, don't be surprised the next time you pull up to a 35yr old at the track with an s2000 with an amuse front, lip cf hood, and it's got a super charger under the hood :D just cause your old doens't mean you can't hook up cars.

Steering wheel was on the lefte.Your right about the age thing, I know alot of older people in the scene but IMO he didnt look like the type. Plus everything else looked stock, like if it came with the car. I dont know.......at the time I thought it was a big deal to see a Typer Civic in the states for the first time. But after all the harsh posts I guess I was wrong.

whats the info on the CTR. HP?? difference compared to lower models...?
DGibb
06-02-2003, 07:22 PM
Si = 160HP
CTR = 197HP (last I heard)
KrazY-2K
06-02-2003, 10:16 PM
197??
I heard it was 192 in some other post... but yours would probly be more accurate since it's closer to the RSX-S's figures of 200hp. After all it is using the same engine.
