3g Eclipse messes with Celica

hey... I just thought you all would get a kick outta this! Found it in an eclipse forum....

eclipse's BLOW! i recently bought a 2002 rs eclipse and I will never buy another mitsubishi product as long as i walk the earth. I have raced a few cars, but tonite, i got beat buy a 2001 celica Gt...NOT A GTS...just a GT....that car has only 135 hp, and NO...i am NOT a bad driver, because i have pulled on a 3G rs and a 3G gs...both 5 speeds, and i have beaten other cars..the the celica has less hp, is a relitively similar sized car, but i hate my car, i hate all eclipses and i hate all mitsubishis, i hate the people at mitsubishi, i hate the salesman, i hate the engineers, i hate the technicians, i hate the cars, i even hate mitsubishi janitors...the 3G eclipse is the biggest piece of **** ever to grace a highway, bi-way or backroad, it is a non performance machine marketed as a performance machine...i hope you all do the wise thing...dont get rid of your eclipse and get a GT...dont put a turbo on it, dont waste any more valuable time or money adding things on to your car, in fact, if at all possible, sell it immidiatly, it is slow, ugly, noisy, gimmicky, and slow...its also a piece of ****, dont ever buy another mitsubishi if you want to go even remotely fast...all 4g64 engines suck and i am quite sure now they are overrated in HP numbers from the factory to get poor suckers like us to buy them, i hope somebody at mitsubishi reads this and realizes what an ass he is for making this terrible waste of sheet metal we call the eclipse....i hate my car..please kill me and destry the car oh yeah...this is for mitsubishi --------> (BAD FINGER SMILEY)

haha...go to the GT forum...im not here to get replies...you can keep them..im just telling you the truth...oh and by the way..your GT is slow too....not as slow as an RS..but its slow...obviously you didnt read the post....a car with 135HP SHOULD be slower...oh and this gt celica raced another car too...a buddy of mine..so if you think your GT is so damn fast...race a gt celica....you will be surprised...mitsubishis suck....thats it...there is nothing else to it..im sorry you are misinformed about the matter, but thats the fact...your GT sucks....the GS sucks...and the RS sucks....there is nothing that well ever make them fast...any of them...oh and its not my mistake for buying the car....its my mistake for thinking a mitsubishi is as good as toyota, hon-duh, or anything else..they suck...all of them..the gt eclipse, the 4 cyl eclipse, the galant montero, mirage, lancer, diamante and everything they have ever made...im sorry you cant see the truth

i drove a 3g mitsubishi eclipse gt with just an intake...i could swear it felt a bit faster than my car....

anything with a lot of torque will feel faster than the GTS becuase of its initial umfff, after that they are nothing special, the GTS doesnt feel fast becuase it is a gradual increase in torque instead of the down low raw power that a standard v6 has, my dad's legend feels fast as ****, but when i put it to the test it was more than a second slower than the GTS, i was almost positive it would have put up a good fight, my mistake.

to my understanding.. doesn't an eclipse RS or watever have like 160 hp?? if so.. why is it such a big deal that a celi gt can beat it?? don't we have a huge weight advantage?

They don't handle too well either. I tested one when I was looking to replace my old 92 SE-R. It was squealing around a corner at 25mph slower than my SE-R would take the same corner.

The Acura I drove was better, but not much.

It's obious what I went with in the end.

ummmmm...500lb difference is **** load when only talking a few hp difference. with 500lbs more ass to haul around that thing would need like 190 hp to keep up. freaking fatties thinking HP is all that matters, whats the deal with that **** anyways.

Well, come on guys...

For the RS/GS, there is about a 200-300 pound difference. For the GT, it is more like 3100 pounds or so, but with 50 more horsepower and ft/lbs of torque.

AS for the stock handling, agreed, it is pretty bad, especially when compared to the Celi. But the stock tires are POS, and with some simple bolt on suspension mods, new springs and tires, it will handle just as good, if not better then the Celi (Granted that i not stock, but the problem can easily be fixed is the point I am making)

Could be, by a smidge, but you will trap higher.

i raced a 3g GT last night on the highway from like a 80mph roll. The only way i could tell he was racing was because he dropped a gear and the nose jumped for a second. I then gave it like 20% throttle in 5th and walked away very quickly from him.

The biggest problem with the Celica is it's a SOB to launch right. The Eclipse GT is VERY easy to launch, but if you get too trottle happy, your gonna melt some tires :)
