So I'm headed down to work in Irvine, going south on Jamboree when I come upon an older guy in a Porsche 911 Turbo (approx. 1996). I certainly didn't want to race him, but he was moving through traffic pretty fast so I dropped in behind him and made my way through also. The road narrowed down to one lane for some construction so we dropped it down to about 40. At the end of the construction it happened...
As the road opened up he nailed it, but didn't seem to downshift. I dropped to 2nd hard to get into lift, but it was obviously no use. I had to wind it all the way up in third just to catch him after he slowed down.
Now I knew those things were fast, but damn, I got my ass kicked and I wasn't even racing.
