hi , i have 315/35/18 tires right now ,and i am going to get new larger tires. its going to be either 225/40/18 or 315/40/18 tires. which is better for my 18 in rims. will they both fit? if so which size is better. thanks

I almost fell over when I saw 315!
225/35/18 is a great size
215/35/18 works as well

If I could make it work properly my choice would be 225/40/18, but that's just not a workable size.

thanks for the help my friends. are you sure 225/40/18 are not a workable size? does it rub or something?

I dont know what J's talkin about but I must disagree on this one.

225/40/18 is the ideal size for 18" rims. You can ask around or even do a search. 35 series tires are more towards low profile and hence you have a better chance of denting, curbing or bending the rim.

I have a 18 x 7.5 rim 42 offset with tires 225/40/18 comin on this weekend. I've seen the same setup several times with a 1.5 drop and they look jus fine.
