NC.ORG - Are You Having Problems???

I know the links dont work for activating your new account.. its because they call newcelica.org when this site isnt actualy referred to as nc.org yet. you have to change the http://www.newcelica.org/ part of the link with http://216.12.31.28/~newcelica/ and that will work to enable your account.

If you are still having problems logging in you can try deleting your cookies for nc.org and making sure you have your browser set to accept all cookies. If this does not work I can not help you. You will have to wait until the DNS change takes place in approx 2-3 day..

Please read the replies below, they may help as well.. If not once the DNS changes take place you should be fine..

yea larry, its the cookies, but how come it doesn't work? my internet explorer was using the same settings as before

becuase the site is running off an IP address and not a domain name.. that screws up IE sometimes with cookies for some reason.. so once the DNS changes over it will be fine.. that will be in the next 2-3 days..

okay here we go. i had the same problem last nite and i could log in....it told me to repeatedly log in, saying how i wasnt authorized to do it. If any of you have this problem, and have IE6, like i did, u have to change the server where u accept cookies from. VVTLIkick posted this before, but since larry wants to know, here we go. u go to
tools - internet options - Privacy - edit - <insert 216.12.31.28> into empty field - press add - enjoy nc.org and post like a m0f0.

im sure larry wouldnt mind if u tested it out here....

I do the old [img] routine and it comes out as a hyper link...what am I doing wrong?, then I tried using the "insert image" button and it still came out as a hyper link. What am I doing wrong here?

mjolnir: the image can be viewed if you right click on the image and choose "show picture". I don't know why it not auto. talk to stripegts on how he did it.

i found a messed up link, on the main nc.org page both the owners database link and the 1/4 run list both bring you back to the flash opening.

Hmmm...

Internet Explorer 5 (Mac OS 9.2 and X 10.1.1): It sometimes won't let me post because of cookies.
OmniWeb 4.1 sp8 (Mac OS X) : No problems whatsoever.

Netscape 4.77 (Windows): No problems.


I think it's the cookies. Larry, is your IP dynamic? Because I notice the IP numbers in the URL keep changing.

well i know the reason people are having problems with the cookies is becuase the site is just an IP and not a domain name.. once that DNS changes take place it should fix all of that.. i put in the request today so it should be 24-48 hours..

Just a little note. On Windows 2000 pro, the forum works fine. But on XP I can't post and reply. I login, but then it forgets me.

first clear out cookies. go to tools in IE then options. Clear out all cookies, delete files.

Okay...My problems seem to be solved...

FYI.. the DNS changes have been accepted by network solutions..it should change within 24-48 hours on mostly everyones computers..then everyone should be able to post again..

It's NOT a Netscape 4.x problem it's bad html code. more than likly a missing tag

Doctor HTML (http://www2.imagiware.com/RxHTML/) reports many support errors

Everything works fine for me. I'm on Mozilla 0.9.5 and MacOS 8.5.1. The site is much faster than it was yesterday.

sometimes the database locks up and the forum is inaccessable till Cruzer can get to it and fix it.. something we got to live with..

Don't know if you noticed this, but when I type in just "newcelica.org" it comes up as a site for "John McNair and Associates". "www.newcelica.org" works fine.
